Decent film

I just happened to come across this title after watching a similar movie. Love how the film shows how traumatic events can break even the best person down. I wish they went more into the events that lead to Shannon's murder. Plus show the events that lead to Chariote being shot. Overall i think it's a decent film, love the young lady who plays Chariote.

Very Very Impressed

I'm a fan of low-budget urban movies and especially "hood movies" and I have to say this may be the most well done I've seen in a long time. The acting is exceptionally good even tho its no name talent and the camerawork rivals hollywood. I honestly didn't expect this movie to be this good! Also, there's a Chuck D from Public Enemy plays a DJ in the movie and that's pretty cool they got him to do that in such a low budget movie. I highly recommend this to anyone that enjoys urban movies. Its 1 of my all-time low budget favs.

Warning: Spoilers
Chariote (Phillia Thomas) has graduated high school in Cleveland and is off to college, maybe, I think. She gets involved with a street dealer named Ace (Hakeem Sharif) whose back she eventually has to cover and has to carry when she is not busy narrating the tale due to a poor screen adaptation. Drugs, killing, hits..off screen rape...I think that's what they implied. Drug dealing, no one doing drugs. .

This is promoted as an "urban film" although other than the setting, it is not very urban. I was able to understand every word spoken, which is unusual as some slang and pronunciations elude me. "Ask" was not pronounced "ax", "What's up" was not pronounced "Wa sup" and at no time was someone told "Yo' trippin." There was no one named "Snow" in the film and the police didn't want to confiscate the production as evidence. Indeed it was all done by actors who have spent their lives trying to sound white and cultured, they didn't dare let loose. For what Phillia Thomas brought to the screen, I thought Miley Cyrus, with attitude, would have been more convincing.

The film is a sell out. It is attempting to eliminate the white criticism of urban films to expand the audience. I also didn't appreciate the opening of the film asking to give them "a like" on Amazon. If you need to ask your fans for votes..

Guide: F-word. Sex. No nudity.
