Johanna and Thomas go to the country. They want to spend time together; they have been neglecting their marriage for a long time. When they arrive at the empty house where Thomas spent his childhood, Johanna quickly sinks into the home office and Thomas potters around; they hardly talk. Her silence is broken when an unknown person appears - the real reason for her stay becomes clear. As part of a chamber play, we learn about a broken marriage, disappointments and intrigues - and about the attempt to find the love of days gone by.
