Interesting documentary about the status of Spanish women since the Republic to democracy
ma-cortes21 September 2014
Documentary movie dealing with a portrait of Spanish woman through a lot of films , taking 180 fragments from the 3os until the 8os . At the same time the picture details a sour portrait upon social classes , catholicism , the holy marriage , abuses against women and many other things , these issues are well shown in a lot of pictures .

This is a typical documentary film voiced by prestigious actor Carlos Hipolito , describing women evolution , social critique , including mockery or wholesale review upon religion , subversive behavior and Franco regime . The film describes unequal status of women , heir to a long tradition of marginalization, subjugation, exploitation and lack of rights , subsequently protest movements emerge pro-women with as called ¨Transition¨ and democracy . As the documentary shows parts of films as ¨La Dolorosa¨ (1930) , ¨Don Quintin El Amargo¨ and other Republican and Spanish Civil War flicks . From the 40 with fiction and non-fiction films about epic feats , at the same time glorifying Franquista Regime , such as ¨Fuenteovejuna¨ , Alba de America¨ and ¨Agustina De Aragon¨ . From the 50s and 60s in which main fate of women is to marry as ¨ Maridos no Cenan en Casa¨, ¨Chicas De Cruz Roja¨, ¨Muchachas De Azul¨, ¨Margarita Se Llama mi Amor¨ , ¨Las 4 Bodas De Marisol¨, ¨Dia De Enamorados¨ , ¨Vuelve San Valentin¨, ¨Cariño Mio¨, ¨Muchachas En Vacaciones¨ . And other engaging pictures with enjoyable images dealing with marginalized spinsters such as ¨Calle Mayor¨ with Betsy Blair and ¨Tia Tula¨ with Aurora Bautista . The period of the 60s concerning the tourist outbreak and with Jose Luis Lopez Vazquez and Alfredo Landa ,¨Landismo¨ , chasing foreign women ; and the first Bikini shown in a Spanish film : Elke Sommer , Bahia De Palma . Of course , there appears some frames about the greatest Spanish Divas as Carmen Sevilla with ¨La Guerrillera De Villa¨ , Lola Flores , and Sara Montiel with titles as ¨Noches de Casablanca¨ , ¨Varietes¨ , ¨5 Almohadas Para Noche¨ and ¨Pecado De Amor ¨ . The Seventies with denounces about abortion such as ¨Aborto Criminal¨ and ¨Abortar En Londres¨ . The ¨Destape¨ or nudism period ¨ such as ¨La Lozana Andaluza¨ , ¨Sábado, Chica, Motel ¡qué Lío Aquel! , ¨La Mujeres De Jeremias¨, until law of divorce of 1981 when appear films as ¨Solos En la Madrugada¨ , ¨Hasta El Matrimonio Nos Separe¨, ¨Que Gozada Divorcio¨, ¨Caray Con El Divorcio¨ . Subsequently are filmed various movies about real working girl as ¨Femenino Singular¨ , ¨Mataharis¨ and ¨Poniente¨ .

The motion picture was well produced by Enrique Cerezo and Agustin Almodovar , Pedro's brother , for that reason in the documentary we see numerous Almodovar's fragments from ¨Todo Sobre Mi Madre¨ , "Trembling Flesh" , ¨Talk to her¨ , ¨Women on the verge of a nervous breakdown¨ ,¨Atame¨ , "The Flower of My Secret" , ¨Entre Tinieblas¨, among others . The motion picture picture was well directed by Diego Galan though with no originality .
