I remember on one of their shows Gene Siskel and Roger Ebert talked about their "guilty pleasures" movies that they were ashamed to admit they liked. The Lost Boys has always been a guilty pleasure of mine going back to when I first saw it in 1987. It can technically be considered a cult classic just like Tom Hank's movie The 'burbs that came out shortly afterwards. Both of these films tried to be scary and funny and succeeded magnificently. HOWEVER they also tried to be daring and original and did a wonderful job of that as well. Both Corey's in this film (Feldman and the ill fated Haim) did a great job and I also loved character actor Barnard Hughes as the eccentric grandpa. The Lost Boys will always have a special place in this movie lovers heart.
