MTV has recently scaled up its online video efforts through a digital studio called MTV(other), and the network’s latest web project is now live. Morgan Evans, a video producer who has worked on series like Onion News Network and VH1’s Best Week Ever, is the creative mind behind The Untitled Web Series That Morgan Evans Is Doing For MTV.
Untitled Web Series follows its titular protagonist, played by Evans, as he looks to make it as an aspiring comedian. The long, winding title of Evans’ new series is almost identical to the name of the project Evans debuted in 2012 as part of New York’s long-running Channel 101 NY web series showcase. This time, he’s stapled “For MTV” onto the end of the title, signifying that, while the new version Untitled Web Series may still carry an indie vibe, it is backed and distributed by the Viacom-owned channel.

On Saturday, Sept. 19, NBC’s long-running sketch comedy series, Saturday Night Live, returns for its 40th season with Chris Pratt hosting the series opener and a few new faces on the team. This year, Best Week Ever alum Michael Che and Pete Davidson are the two newest members to join the cast. At the age of 20, Davidson is the fourth youngest cast member to appear on SNL behind some big names (Anthony Michael Hall, Eddie Murphy, and Robert Downey, Jr.)
It’s incredible to believe that at 20, Davidson — not yet able to legally drink — will be on stage alongside seasoned cast members like Taran Killam and Kate McKinnon, both of whom are in their 30s. We certainly aren’t ageist here at VH1; we welcome Davidson with open arms. But we did notice one disturbing trend: Most of the youngest SNL cast members only lasted one or two seasons,...

Congratulations to Michael Che, who will be joining The Daily Show this June as their newest correspondent. The comedian comes from Saturday Night Live, where he's a writer. He also appeared on the recent Best Week Ever revamp. Unlike many stand-ups who take well over five years to start making waves, Che's buzz has escalated quickly. He was featured in a New York Times profile in November of 2012, where he was painted as a natural: “I said, ‘As soon as I get $400, I’m going to take a class,’” he recalled. “Then every time I had $400, I had a bill.”...

You already know that this week’s episode of Best Week Ever is going to be bloody brilliant, thanks to the lovely stars of Vampire Academy and their speedy self-promotion. But we haven’t seen the box office numbers just yet, and a former American Idol star is running for Congress!
It’s been a wild week, but there can only be one recipient of the Best Week Ever crown, and this week there are more than a few contenders. Who are the Bwe stars digging?
Emily Tarver is mesmerized by the whirlwind week the badass and newly free women of Pussy Riot are having…
Amanda Seales is in awe of Top Chef host Padma Lakshmi‘s bikini body (especially after testing all that food).
And Joanna Bradley is hopeful that Clay Aiken’s sudden political interest will jumpstart a trend among Idol alumni, ultimately leading to First Lady Keith Urban.

The Wolf of Wall Street hits theaters on December 25 giving us an inside look at the decadent world of 1980s Wall Street. Best Week Ever‘s own Henry Zebrowski appears in the film, but more importantly, he appears in one of the film’s most viral gifs. We sat down with Henry for a very serious discussion about the technical craftsmanship that goes into acting for gifs, what inspires him to want to be a gif actor and what bouncing between two big boobies has to do with the fine arts.

Comedian Dan St. Germain often brings the laughs (and occasionally plays God) on Best Week Ever, but at midnight tonight his Comedy Central special, The Half Hour: Dan St. Germain, will air. I got the chance to catch up with Dan St. Germain at Best Week Ever HQ and talk to him about the special tonight, as well as what’s coming up on the horizon for him.
VH1: So, your first Comedy Central half hour special is airing tonight at midnight. Could you take us through how that comes about?
Dan St. Germain: I just bribed them.
No, no, you just submit a tape and hopefully they think it’s funny.
I’ve seen you recently at open mics and shows all over New York and I know you’re working all the time on amazing new material. How did you decide what material would go into the half hour?...
