She always thought composing music for an entire film in Bollywood would mean extremely high pressure and working in a somewhat corporate structure. However, Zeb Bangash, the first Pakistani artist to serve as music director of a Bollywood film – ‘Lipstick Under My Burkha’ – recalls it felt more like “coming home”.
Stressing that the movie was very special as there was a real sense of creating something new, and carving out a space that was absent before, she recalls: “Alankrita Anvita, Ankur Mukherjee, Amrit Mahajan and I shared and carried that sentiment with us. It really was like finding a community. Meetings were held, not in production houses but in homes over food and music, jokes, and poetry.”
Lamenting the current non-exchange of artists between India and Pakistan, she says for her, it is not about opportunities lost vis-a-vis audiences and markets, but the fact that it shrinks an artistic community.

The 'josh' for patriotic films is 'high' in Bollywood. After the success of Uri: The Surgical Strike, Hindi movie buffs can gear up to watch Kesari, Major, Raw, Batla House, Panipat, Saare Jahaan Se Accha, Mission Mangal, '83 and a biopic on Kargil war hero Vikram Batra, among others. Amid the escalating tension between India and Pakistan, netizens turned to past and recent patriotic films to dig out memorable dialogues, the most recent being from "Uri: The Surgical Strike", based on the surgical strikes that India conducted on terror camps in Pakistan in 2016.
The Indian Air Force's air strike on terror camps in Pakistan, which was in retaliation to the February 14 Pulwama terror attack, led to social media speculations that a "Surgical Strike 2" could be made.
From wars to fighting social evils and telling heroic tales of sportsperson -- various shades of patriotism have been depicted on the big...

Qurat-ul-Ain Balouch, popularly known as Qb, has made her debut in Bollywood with “Kaari Kaari.’ This heartfelt track from national-award winning director Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury’s Pink is a harmonious marriage between Qurat-ul-Ain Balouch’s pristine, earthy voice, lyricist Tanveer Ghazi’s compelling heartfelt words and Shantanu Moitra’s invigorating melody.
Kaari Kaari is a delight to the senses and food for thought as it instantaneously transports and liberates you with your deepest thoughts, mediating between you and your soul. The lyrics perfectly bring out the plight of the characters and the boundaries from which they wish to break free. At the core of it, the song is about a woman’s fight against societal elements that attempt to curb her spirit, her feelings are beautifully expressed, at the same time her demand for emancipation moves you. Debutante Qb breathes life into the track and her passion touches the heart,...

It's been long since we saw John Abraham on the big screen. His last film Madras Cafe released more than a year back in August 2013. But even though his films haven't released since long, the actor maintains that acting is his first love.
"I think being an actor is clearly the closest to my heart. I'd love to do various films every year. So that's going to be my first love," says John.
He further adds, "I think being a producer is as good as being an entrepreneur and that comes second in my list."
Fitness is also something which John adores. When asked about him being a fitness icon, "Fitness icon is also something that's up there with being an actor. I always wanted to be fit, irrespective of the fact that I'm an actor or not," said the actor on a concluding note.

Before you see them romance each other in the much-awaited rom com Running Shaadi.com, Amit Sadh and Tapsee Pannu will heat up your television sets in the steamy new Wild Stone advertisement. The commercial has been directed by Madras Cafe man Shoojit Sircar who has also produced Running Shaadi.com.
In the commercial, Amit and Tapsee play neighbours flying kites on their roofs when the Wild Stone magic floats in the air. She hops over in his space and they face each other in a moment of passion.
This is the fifth advertisement that Shoojit has directed for Wild Stone. “Amit and Tapsee have great chemistry in our film Running Shaadi.com and I wanted the audience to get a taste of what’s in store in this commercial,” says the talented filmmaker.
Interestingly, the commercial has been shot by Amit Roy, the cinematographer who turns director with Running Shaadi.
