On syndicated airings of this episode, which was always on Monday-Friday of the week it was shown, this installment of the episode and every one after it was sped up five percent(making the chipmunks sound a bit more "chipmunkier" and everybody else in the show sound like they inhaled a little helium). It most likely was done to make time for the recap of the previous installments, which was roughly 20 seconds each. The most sensible way Disney found to edit for the time I guess, rather than maybe shortening the theme song like they did for the Disney Afternoon to accommodate the DA opener.
This episode, and several others, give hints that Chip and Dale (and eventually all the Rescue Rangers) live in San Francisco. The presence of a large cargo port and Chinatown are the pieces of evidence for this theory.
Juice Lee, the top Chinese Fighting Fish that Fat Cat buys, is a nod to Bruce Lee, the renowned martial artist and actor.
A cultural sensitivity warning precedes this episode when streaming on the Disney + service. Presumably this is in regards to the depictions of Asian cats in Chinatown.
