Pre-production began in 2009.
First shown at an exhibition in the Glasgow School of Art in March 2012.
An early possible title for the film was "My Neighbor Time-Invader".
Was written, voiced and animated over the course of 6 months.
The plot is loosely based on Mark Flood's experience with a neighbor who heightened and extended his house exhaust pipe, the result of which was that the fumes would be blown over Flood's driveway, and also disturbed Flood while he was studying for his school exams by loudly cutting down all the trees in his garden. The neighbor also planned to build an extension onto his house which would block all sunlight from the street but was stopped when neighbors complained.
Mark Flood: [innocent world vs. a cynical world] Tom the "Dawg" represents an innocent world by getting lost in his own music, while Bill the Cat represents a cynical world by interrupting him and trying to get him to stop.
Mark Flood: [Morrison] Flood frequently casts Jack Morrison in his films. Morrison voices Bill the Cat in this film.
