Slouching Towards The Finish

Boring! Boring! Boring!

With each week my ratings go down a point. It appears the return of Axe (Damian Lewis) was a red herring. This is two episodes in a row where he does not appear. Also, the I'm-so-gosh-darn-smart cultural references have become tedious in the extreme.

Wendy's (Maggie Siff) new mission looks the most promising, plot-wise, and the most likely to bring Mike Prince (Corey Stoll) down.

However, there is hope. The stage is now set for the second half of the season to feature Wendy and Wags (David Costabile) united, and I believe will join forces with Taylor (Asia Kate Dillon), Axe and ultimately, Chuck (Paul Giamatti), in derailing despicable Prince's run for the Oval Office. So, oddly, I am optimistic.

I am not saying that this show is not fun but..

I have counted 22 cultural references in this show, which means that I am spending more time checking on Google to find out what is the characters are talking about than what they are actually doing.

Plus, I am warming to Prince and still don't know what he is doing that is so wicked. On the other hand, I thought that Chuck was now one of the good guys, but he has turned into a spiteful little whinger. No wonder that Wendy has dumped him for Bradford But I suppose the real question is, what has happened to Axe, who was the real reason for watching this show.

All sympathy to Damian Lewis who has suffered a grievous lose.

Warning: Spoilers
As if the world doesn't know how Hurricanes are named and categorized. Every local news station covers this, except for New York and Los Angeles apparently.

The extreme over use of.cultural reference has become tiresome as well. It use to be quaint, especially when Axe and Wags would throw them out...but literally everyone does it now. Enough already.

However, the Soundtrack is on point and the return of Bobby Axelrod is a welcome sight. While I've enjoyed the series over the years, it's obvious that its time has come to end.

Here's hoping the do the fans right and burn everything to the motha effin' ground.
