The recording console used during the making of Led Zeppelin’s IV – including “Stairway to Heaven” – and Bob Marley and the Wailers’ Catch a Fire will hit the auction block in December.
The HeliosCentric console is actually an “amalgamation” of two separate Helios consoles – Island Records’ Basing Street Studio 2 Helios Console and Alvin Lee’s Helios console from Space Studios – that were combined in 1996 by Elvis Costello and Squeeze’s Chris Difford with consultation from Helios Electronics Ltd founder Richard (Dick) Swettenham, auction house Bonhams said of the item.

Hours after Maddie Poppe won season 16 of “American Idol,” two of the previous champs — Ruben Studdard (season 2) and Taylor Hicks (season 5) — made fun of their fleeting fame in a music video spoof on Monday’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” That got us wondering what happened to the other lucky 13 winners of this reality competition series.
After watching these two men make merry with some of the more dubious talent to appear on “Idol” during its 15-year run on Fox, scroll down to the photo gallery to find out what they, and the rest of the winners, have been up to since taking the title.

Just two years after it was cancelled by Fox, “American Idol” returns to ABC on March 11. When this reality competition series hit the airwaves back in 2002, it was a ratings smash, and many of its early winners enjoyed huge success. Indeed, its first-ever champ, Kelly Clarkson, has won three Grammys and parlayed her fame into a string of hit records and a new gig as a judge on the competition, NBC’s’ “The Voice.”
However, many of the more recent music newcomers to be named “American Idol” have found that their time in the spotlight is fleeting. In the photo gallery above, we take a look back at the first 15 “American Idol” winners to date and see how many have been lucky so far and which have been jinxed.

As a teen just getting into the world of low-budget horror movies, and straight to VHS fare, there were a handful of directors whose work I would buy and/or rent without fail and without any prior knowledge (besides the spiel on the back of the box) of what i was getting into. One of those directors was Fred Olen Ray, the genius behind such films as Scalps, Star Slammer, Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers, Evil Toons, Cyclone and the awesome Scream Queen Hot Tub Party. However in the intervening years it’s safe to say I haven’t had the urge to watch as many of his flicks as I did in the 80s/90s heyday...

Screen siren Tawny Kitaen returns to our screens on the hunt for a killer in After Midnight, the latest film from renowned filmmaker Fred Olen Ray (the man behind one of my favourite horror B-movies, Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers). When an exotic dancer is murdered at a seedy strip club, her sister Constance (Catherine Annette – Silent But Deadly), a TV newscaster, goes undercover to find the killer. While working at the club, she quickly realizes that everyone is a suspect and that other dancers are being targeted. She must work fast to find the killer to seek her revenge before she becomes the next target.
After Midnight debuts via VOD on October 28th from Phase 4 Films, in anticipation of it’s release we chatted to star Catherine Annette about her role and working with Fred Olen Ray and Tawny Kitaen…
What was it that attracted you to the film, Catherine?...

When exotic dancer Duffy is murdered, her sister, a TV newscaster, goes undercover to find out what happened... trouble is, Duffy has come back from the dead, seeking her own revenge in this “Twin Peaks” inspired horror thriller from Fred Olen Ray.
That’s the premise behind After Midnight, the latest from b-movie maven Fred Olen Ray. Jeneta St. Clair is the ghostly murder victim, and Catherine Annette is the sister stripping down to find her sister’s murderer. But the marquee names are two former sex symbols of the 1980’s: Richard Grieco of “21 Jump Street” fame and Tawny Kitaen of Witchboard and slithering around on the hood of a car in Whitesnake music videos.
Retromedia Entertainment and Synthetic Filmwerx have released a slightly Nsfw trailer for their erotically-charged supernatural thriller. That “Welcome to the Darkside” song, how many direct-to-video movies has it been used in? That’s a B-Sides waiting to happen.
