Amidst a night of almost all encores, Sunday saw the second benefit concert in a week on NBC as the only original on TV besides 60 Minutes. Hosted by Today’s Savannah Guthrie, The Women’s Concert for Change: Live From London (0.8/2) was watched by 2.98 million, which is well below the 8.4 million viewers and 1.9/5 rating for the one-hour live tornado-relief concert Healing In The Heartland: Relief Benefit Concert on May 29. Concert For Change did match the ratings of Fox’s one-hour Rihanna 777 music documentary special May 6. Growing by 14% in adults 18-49 from its first to second hour, Concert For Change won the 10-11 Pm time slot up repeats of The Mentalist (0.7/2) and ABC’s new Motive (0.5/2). The concert featured performances from Jennifer Lopez, John Legend, Florence + The Machine and Beyonce and a cameo by Jay-z, and appearances by Madonna, Jada Pinkett Smith, Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Zoe Saldana, James Franco,...

Don’t take a bow, Rihanna, your documentary special stumbled in the ratings last night.
Monday’s hour-long Rihanna 777 special delivered only 1.7 million viewers and a 0.8 rating among adults 18-49. The show was trounced by NBC’s The Voice (11.9 million viewers, 3.9) and was the lowest-rated first-run program on a major broadcast network for the evening. The program was also torn up by the critics, with EW’s Tanner Stransky calling the publicity-friendly jet-set tour documentary “a shallow look at the pop star’s plane madness.”
Also last night: CBS’ How I Met Your Mother (check out Sandra Gonzalez’s...

Fast National ratings for Monday, May 6, 2013. Despite continued small declines, NBC's "The Voice" dominated Monday night among young viewers, while ABC's also declining "Dancing with the Stars" led overall. That means business as usual. Other Monday notables included season lows for "How I Met Your Mother" and "Mike & Molly," an up week for "Hawaii Five-0" and, at least tentatively, "Revolution." Oh and Rihanna's media domination appears not to have reached as far as television, since her "Rihanna 777" special tanked on Fox. Among adults 18-49, NBC averaged a 3.3 rating for Monday night, tops...

Rihanna wanted to do a seven-show tour in seven countries in seven days on a 777 jet and she had the tour filmed to show the fans what it's like to be Rihanna. What was produced is the "Rihanna 777" special that aired on Fox Monday (May 6) -- did you tune in?
The tour kicks off with Rihanna giving her crew and entourage gift bags that includes a small diamond on a string -- so they can't say they've never had a diamond in their lives. And we're off!
Highlights include:
Someone on the trip has the Twitter handle "Boobs Radley" -- we can't decide if that's awesome or awful. Probably both. Anyway, Boobs tweets, "Rihanna walked up and down the aisles serving champagne and cognac. Best air hostess ever."The pre-show battle cry goes, "Uno, dos, tres, seven seven seven, Mexico!" or whichever country they're in at the time. In Paris,...

It was seven days, seven countries, one pop star - and a planeload of bemused and annoyed fans and journalists. Rihanna's 777 Tour made headlines - not necessarily the good kind - last November when the pop star tackled a seven-day, seven-country tour to celebrate the release of her new album, Unapologetic. And Monday we get an inside peek into that bizarre, whirlwind week when Fox airs Rihanna 777, a documentary special. The week included shows in Mexico City, Toronto, Stockholm, Paris, Berlin, London and New York City. The Barbados-born star, 25, invited 250 fans and journalists on her custom-designed VIP plane for the adventure,...

Last November, Rihanna invited dozens of journalists on her 777 tour, consisting of seven concerts in seven countries in seven days, via a 777 aircraft. (It’s all so cleverly packaged, right?) Headlines during the extravaganza deemed the trip a “fiasco,” with the press complaining that Rihanna was unavailable and they were tired. (Boo-hoo!) (Rihanna eventually apologized for the madness.)Not shockingly, this one-hour special about the whole shebang is less interesting than those on-the-scene reports. It doesn’t capture much of the supposed insanity that ensued on the plane — which would be the only reason to watch — and calling it a...

Cher loves her mom. No reason to think Rihanna doesn't, but for now, the career comes first. Two of pop's highest-profile divas take the spotlight in new docu-specials, with Lifetime's Dear Mom, Love Cher (Monday, 10/9c) going for the heart-strings as Cher pays tribute to her 86-year-old mom, Georgia Holt, who uprooted her family from Arkansas to Hollywood to pursue stardom that would take another generation to achieve. Cher performs a duet with Georgia and introduces recordings her mom taped more than 30 years ago that Cher is preparing to release commercially. Think of this as a helpful reminder if you haven't done your own Mother's Day shopping yet. Rihanna's love-fest in Fox's self-promotional vanity production Rihanna 777 (8/7c) is with the fans who follow her on a world concert tour, packing a 777 airliner along with journalists and a film crew capturing her every move.

Rihanna gives fans a very short (17 seconds’ worth) teaser of what to expect from her upcoming “Rihanna 777” tour TV special, which airs on Fox on May 6. The show chronicles her November promotional tour for "Unapologetic," during which she performed seven shows in seven countries in seven days, and was, indeed, very unapologetic for keeping folks waiting for hours time and time again. [More after the jump...] As one of the 150 journalists embedded on the tour, here’s five things I saw that you don’t see in the short clip: 1. All 150 journalists standing on their plane chairs...
