Is love truly a battlefield, even for the seemingly unshakeable duo of Wade Wilson and Vanessa? Well, rumor mills are abuzz, and it looks like Deadpool & Wolverine, affectionately dubbed Deadpool 3, is poised to upend tables and break the franchise’s cherished central romance, leaving us to wonder—are Wade and Vanessa simply playing at being ‘just friends’, or has Cupid hung up his bow for these two?
Ryan Reynolds and Morena Baccarin in a still from Deadpool | Marvel Entertainment
We certainly were as taken aback as anyone when sources, following a trailer for Shawn Levy’s film that hit us like a ton of bricks, confirmed what some eagle-eyed fans suspected. It was clear: Wade Wilson and Vanessa are no longer an item in Deadpool & Wolverine.
Yes, it means Morena Baccarin will grace us with her presence as Vanessa once again, but hold your horses—Entertainment Weekly...

While Superhero-fatigue was not at its peak, several movies from both superhero brands— Marvel and DC Studios, enjoyed the heydays at the box office. Amid that, stand-alone female-led movies have also seen astonishing success.
Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman
Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman starring Gal Gadot, in particular, was the perfect example of the rise of female-led superhero flicks as the 2017 movie went on to be a critical darling with a stunning box-office performance. Fox’s X-Men movie series based on the Marvel characters also enjoyed a mild buzz for a female-led movie with Dafne Keen but it did not see the light of day as of yet.

Adrianne Lenker has unveiled “Fool,” the latest single from her forthcoming solo album, Bright Future.
Guided by a muted acoustic guitar line, “Fool” lets Lenker’s wandering verses shine in their purest form. Describing a relationship at a standstill, she arrives at the chorus by requesting “Oh, just say what it is that you want,” and later concludes the track with the decisive “What more can I possibly say? / So if you wanna go I say baby okay, okay.” Throughout, light flourishes of strings pop in and out of Lenker’s homespun arrangement, including moments where you can practically hear Lenker smiling on the mic as she records.
“Fool” also arrives with a similarly homespun music video directed by her brother, Noah Lenker. The video features Lenker fashioned as a winter cowboy warrior with her family and dogs frolicking around her. Watch it below.

Adrianne Lenker has announced her fourth studio album, Bright Future, out March 22nd via 4Ad. Along with the announcement, the Big Thief member has shared the single “Sadness As a Gift.”
Bright Future will be Lenker’s first album since 2020’s dual albums, Songs and Instrumentals, and was co-produced by longtime collaborator Philip Weinrobe. Embracing the unique blend of lo-fi acoustic and alternative that Lenker has become a master of, the album prominently features contributions from Nick Hakim, Mat Davidson, and Josefin Runsteen, all of whom were integral to the album’s sound, according to Lenker.
“I think the thing these people have in common [is that] they are some of the best listeners I know musically,” Lenker said in a statement, reflecting on the live-in-the-room recording process the musicians employed. “They have extreme presence… It felt like everyone’s nervous systems released. Once we were In the song, somehow we just knew.

Last August, Buck Meek shared his third studio album, Haunted Mountain. Now, the Big Thief member is back with two new singles from the Haunted Mountain sessions: “Cuero Dudes” and “Beauty Opens Doors.”
Capturing the same warmth as the songs on Haunted Mountain, the two new singles show off Buck Meek’s songwriting versatility. “Cuero Dudes,” for example, is actually a reworking of the Haunted Mountain track “Cyclades,” featuring new lyrics, or “stories,” and a slightly adapted arrangement.
“Beauty Opens Doors,” meanwhile, has an open arrangement featuring clicking percussion, a flowing soundscape of synths and strings, and — as so-wonderfully highlighted throughout Haunted Mountain — dreamy pedal steel guitar lines. According to the singles’ press material, the song was first recorded during the Haunted Mountain sessions and became a tune that Meek “truly loved,” but it “simply didn’t fit the album.” Now, it arrives into the world, along with a music video for “Cuero Dudes.

Big Thief have shared a remastered reissue of their 2016 debut album Masterpiece, out now via 4Ad.
When Big Thief released Masterpiece in 2016, they seemingly became indie rock royalty overnight. The Brooklyn-based band recorded the album in July 2015 at a makeshift studio in an old lakehouse with producer Andrew Sarlo and engineer James Krivchenia, the latter of whom would go on to become Big Thief’s full-time drummer.
Though its title could be used to describe the quality of the record itself, vocalist Adrianne Lenker says Masterpiece refers to “the masterpiece of existence, which is always folding into itself, people attempting to connect, to both shake themselves awake and to shake off the numbness of certain points in their life. The interpretations might be impressionistic or surrealistic, but they’re grounded in simple things.”
In additional Big Thief news, the band has also unveiled an official karaoke YouTube channel so that...

She walks amongst trees, a riverbed, and dances in a field with her partner. Check it out below.
“This song has been a quiet beacon for me,” Lenker said in a statement.

In the cinematic realm where storytelling prowess is essential, Ruined, directed by Tamara Bass and penned by Michelle Valentine, stumbles as it attempts to traverse the convoluted terrain of love, revenge, and suspense. Despite its promising premise, the film falls flat, leaving viewers with an unsatisfying aftertaste due to lackluster performances, uninspiring chemistry, and a failure to adequately delve into the characters’ motivations. The film takes audiences on a tumultuous journey through the lives of Landon and Olivia Richards, a couple whose marriage and individual dreams are entangled in a web of worldly aspirations, secrets, heartache, and the chilling intentions of a vengeful specter.
The crux of the film revolves around Liv and Landon Richards, portrayed by Annie Ilonzeh and Chris Warren, respectively. Landon embodies the quintessence of success as an accomplished Ob-gyn, steering his own medical practice that especially caters to black women. Despite this, however, he desperately wants...
