The penultimate episode of what has been a really good, return-to-farm season is another Torres episode, where his current gig with Chicago PD and his old life in one of the Windy City's more sketchy neighbourhoods merge during a murder investigation that he sparks by following a handwritten note following a family baptism. I love characters with depth and complication, and Torres definitely has that.

This is probably actually the best Torres-focused episode we have seen so far. Benjamin Levy Aguilar has been a breath of fresh air since joining the show and - dare I say it? - the Dante Torres character, has made the departure of Jesse Lee Soffer/Jay Halstead easier to stomach.

Since Hank is a boyscout now, the show has been going downhill for a while.. hailey eternal constipated looks and her storyline with jay got boring fast so they need to come up with a new thing for her to do..

burgees stories is just about the kid and adam being just a sidekick to her character development..

the only 2 characters worth mentioning this season are torres and kevin.. kevin now with his dad and i already forgot what else he got going on..

but torres is the most nuanced characters on the show.. coming from a difficult neighborhood and a shady characters, little by little we got to know him and this episode proved why he is the best one on the show at the moment.. hands down.
