Moving and Involving
For an independent production, this is a surprisingly well made and involving film. The actors really bring you into the story, and you find yourself being happy, sad, and scared for the characters. Very moving story well shot with a great score and memorable scenes and characters.
Special shout out to the lead female, Sabrina Close who takes a very difficult character and makes you believe her and care for you. The performances by her "parents" also brought out the feels, as it was easy to hate them, and so care for her even more.
Espinosa's direction was very sure handed, deliberate, and in control. I look forward to seeing what he does next.

Intense and revealing
Wow. This film doesn't hold back on trauma so many films sensationalise. Really very honest. It would make a very good Broadway play. What can be criticised as less than perfect acting misses the point of the trauma such people go through. People are disempowered in such situations. Why are men so violent with women? It's totally stupid and pathetic.
It's refreshing to see people being so honest in their actions.
180 characters to go 160 characters to go 134 characters to go 114 characters to go 94 characters to go 72 characters to go 53 characters to go 33 characters to go 13 characters to go.
