A bunch of flat plotlines
MickyG3333 February 2024
5.7 stars.

A former country music star owns stables and breeds horses. A thunderstorm comes and lightning hits the stables and some of it is destroyed by fire. His wife is absent, out and about taking care of her own affairs and agendas, probably for the benefit of the family. Their two daughters are part of a fledgling country band, which also includes various men. They are working hard to score a record deal. One man in the band has a crush on one sister, but she's more interested in a bar owner. The other sister is married to a man who owns a business and is planning on purchasing a winery. He wants her to focus more on business than the band and so they have marital problems. The plots jump back and forth between father and daughters and the band and mom and this and that. The theme is a Christian based one, as these people pray once in a while for God to lead them through their daily struggles. Meanwhile, where is mom, why is she hardly ever seen, will she return?

This is a jumbled mess of bad acting and half-hearted drivel. The strategy I'm detecting is the producers are leading the audience down a road to what appears to be a future tv series. I would not elect to watch this series, it does not interest me at all. Now I'm going to attempt to watch 'Country Hearts Christmas', and my aim is to quickly fast forward through most of it in order to clear space on my DVR.

Um ... just decide on what the movie is supposed to be about!

Warning: Spoilers
A lot of unnecessary fluff. A lover comes back to town - and the two kind of reject each other. The male bandmate has a crush on the lead singer and she has no clue. A barn burns down and with it goes "semen samples" for breeding. A wife wants to sing and hubby is focused on the winery ... with lots of underlying deception. Although wifey isn't totally 100% on board. Dad's wife is a country performer who is seldom home. The ranch has a bunch of overdue bills. The only issue that was sort of resolved was going to Nashville for a recording contract. The star comes home - something that wasn't even addressed for most of the movie. The dad gets a BIG check - FOR WHAT? It's never explained. Just too many stories going on with no resolution. Would be better as a series (although it does look like there's a Christmas movie coming...) This seemed like a pilot for a TV show. Hey ... they should call it as it is. BUT as a standalone movie - just doesn't work.

Don't bother watching.

Warning: Spoilers
Don't bother watching this movie leaves too many unanswered questions. Left me one wanting to know why even started watching this movie. I should've read the reviews before I started. I hate it when there's a movie that leaves you with so many unanswered questions. Another thing that's irritating is if she really wanted to be a great country western singer let her do it on her own. Why does she have to drag her sister who doesn't wanna be dragged into it . Her sister is a willie nillie character Who should stand up for herself, our ex-boyfriend is someone we could do without also the only one that I would like to see in a movie again would be Roddy.

B-O-R-I-N-G: Just Plain Boring.
YabbaDabbaDabba5 November 2023
This could have been a pretty good show, but it wasn't. The actors are not very good, but minimally okay. The guy who played the ex-con's singing made my ears hurt. And the film just kind of dragged along. In other words, there was no compelling reason to keep watching it because it was not very interesting.

On the positive side, the horse stables and surrounding fenced grazing areas were pleasant to view, and who doesn't like horses? If the script, directing, actors, and acting were as good as the location shots, the film would have been quite good.

I believe it was a great missed opportunity, and what a shame.

The whole movie was just blah

Warning: Spoilers
The only reason I tried watching this movie was one of the actresses who plays in it plays Jessica on Heartland and so and I wanted to support her but the movie was so boring and they really never told you why the farm was behind on its bills or why one of the main characters couldn't stay at home was like nobody communicated the actress who plays Jessica on Heartland was barely even in the movie I guess she didn't really have a big part the singing Lord have mercy let's not even start it wasn't all that great it's basically just a religious movie created for up Faith and family that probably should be on pureflex because of that religious.

Sequel please
tinatalksavon24 October 2023
A little slow at first, but once it got going we really enjoyed the show overall. The movie showed some very pretty countryside scenery, including the ranch - with a GORGEOUS horse barn and pretty horses too. Country music is my favorite, so I really enjoyed listening to the music too.

But, this movie leaves SO many unanswered questions. I certainly hope there is a sequel - and the sooner the better. Even a weekly series would be a good idea. I can see where, I think, a few of these storylines are leading - but I would REALLY like to know for sure.

I could have done without a couple of the characters, but I guess it takes all kinds to make a movie.
