Hallmark's had some pretty bad plots and this is another one to add to the list. The entire movie portrays the mom and the "bad" person and yes, she's a bit much, but what do they expect? The mother and daughter are supposed to be fairly close and then the daughter changes plans to hang with her mother because she's newly engaged -to a guy the mom knew nothing about? The daughter, friends, and new family that's forced on her keep making it seem like she's the one in the wrong in all of this. She's not. Trying to sabotage the wedding seems like a lot, but it's understandable. Her daughter is marrying a guy she's known for a few months and who wasn't good enough to be introduced beforehand. Hallmark finally got some good actors and squandered them with this terrible plot.

What a delightful film about motherhood, adulthood, self-discovery and love. I call this a Beautiful, Brilliant a d Black story. No tropes; just about Black Life so refreshing to see a story that isnt centered on violence, racism, drugs, etc. Im always looking for Stories about Black peole living normal everyday lives with stories deeper than "the hood" or "the man" or black neurosis. Multilayered stories that show the multidimensional lives of successful huemyn beings with huemyn problems just like every other race but that still portray healthy and flawed family dynamics. I look forwsrd to seeing Keesha and all the other excellent cast members in more dynamic, intricate and multidimensional roles!
