McG has boarded NBC’s drama pilot The Mysteries Of Laura as director/executive producer, reuniting with Warner Bros TV — where his company, Wonderland Sound Of Vision, was based for 12 years before going indie in June. Mysteries Of Laura, from Wbtv, writer Jeff Rake, Greg Berlanti’s Berlanti Productions and Aaron Kaplan’s Kapital Entertainment, is based on the popular Spanish series Los Misterios De Laura. It follows the life and relationships of a female homicide detective who can handle murderous criminals — but not her evil twin sons. McG’s Wonderland continues to co-produce with Wbtv the CW’s long-running drama Supernatural as well as its upcoming spinoff. Last season, Wme-repped McG directed the ABC/Wbtv drama pilot Westside.

It took three years for McG to follow-up Terminator Salvation with the medicore action comedy This Means War, and we were hoping that he was going to stick to television after being involved with developing series "Westside" and "Guilty." However, it sounds like the director is coming back to film. While that normally wouldn't be all that thrilling, he'll have the help of action star Dwayne Johnson in the lead, hot on the heels of a spectacular 2013 which includes Snitch, G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Pain & Gain and Fast & Furious 6. So what is this project bringing Johnson and the director of Charlie's Angels together? Read on! THR reports Johnson will lead a big screen adaptation of the 1980s TV series The Fall Guy, a project that has been in the works for awhile. The ABC series followed Lee Majors as a film stuntman who moonlights as a bounty hunter when work is slow,...

The Fall TV Season presentations for all the new network shows take place this week with the third announced earlier today. Here's a full breakdown of which concepts have made the final list over on ABC.
The network is changing up some of its serialized dramas - removing random repeats in favor of two "uninterrupted runs" of twelve episodes each (one in the fall, one in the spring) for shows like "Once Upon A Time," "Grey’s Anatomy," "Scandal" and "Revenge". The large gaps between the two half-seasons will be bridged by "limited series" designed around only 12-13 episode seasons.
Several other pilots didn't make the final cut and won't be seen including the high-profile "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" rip-off "Gothica", McG's rip-off of Baz Luhrmann's "Romeo + Juliet" entitled "Westside", the series based on Disneyland's Big Thunder Mountain ride, the Annie Potts-led "Murder in Manhattan" about...

"Southland" star Ben McKenzie has scored the lead role in CBS' new legal pilot "The Advocates," but what does that mean for his future on the TNT cop drama?
According to TVLine, McKenzie will play Henry Bird in "The Advocates" pilot. His character is described as a "quietly determined" man who "is freed after being unjustly imprisoned for 16 years." He and a female lawyer will join forces to become "victim advocates," who will often skirt the edges of the law in the interests of representing the legal underdogs of the world.
McKenzie's pilot role is in second position to "Southland," but there's obviously enough interest from "Advocates" production studio Warner Bros. (which also produces "Southland") to raise questions about the TNT show's longevity, since actors with job security rarely audition for other parts. It's also possible that should "Southland" be renewed and "The Advocates" be picked up to series by CBS,...
