Missy is a strong character
This episode provides some great character development for Missy, but it still struggles with pacing issues that have been a recurring problem for the series.
The episode follows Missy as she steals a truck in order to run away from home. As she drives around, she seeks out the troubled Paige to accompany her. The scenes with Missy are a highlight of the episode, and bring added depth to her character.
However, the slower story movements continue to frustrate me. This episode, like others in the series, drags out some storylines without giving them any real development. The series has a tendency to linger on ideas without providing enough momentum to keep things interesting.
The acting in this episode, particularly from Missy and Paige, is strong and believable. The chemistry between the two actors is wonderful, and they are able to make the most out of the script's limitations.
Overall, "A Stolen Truck and Going on the Lam" is an episode that has some good character moments, but continues to suffer from the same slow pacing that has plagued the series since its inception. It's a solid entry in the series, but it still has a lot of work to do to reach its full potential.
