Hilarious

This is one of my favorite short films of the past few years. Step Right Up starts as a simple story about a man who really, really wants a coffee maker, and gradually builds upon the premise. It's bizarre, surreal, and hysterical.

Justin Thibault, who usually plays gangsters or other dramatic roles, shows impressive range. The supporting actors each hit their mark. And director Kris Salvi is great as the over-the-top Big Dave.

It's nice to see Salvi direct a different kind of film. He shows a light touch that fits the material perfectly. And the crew comes through in every way.

So come on down to Big Dave's!

Step Right Up is an energetic hilarious film with a strong message and an equally stronger cast. Justin Thibault leads the film in a captivating yet humorous way similar to that of John Goodman or Joaquin Phoenix. The story is equally as funny with randomness and insanity sprinkled throughout the film. Everyone in the cast lends to the insanity and the overall comedic yet dramatic undertone of the film. "It's the little things that matter" says Glen Tavern. A little film with a big story about the little things such as a coffee maker, will leave you in tears and pondering "Do The little things matter just as much as the big things In life?" In order to find out, "Come on down to Big Dave's!"
