- Alan, an unusual man in his late20s, blessed with an unusual appearance and walk and bullied by everyone he meets learns to confront his demons, find his true self and along the way finds true love in the form of Grace, the one person who accepts him truly for who he is.—Anonymous
- Inspired by the likes of Harold & Maude, Benny & Joon and other tales of oddballs finding love, A Bird In The Hand is a joint Scottish/Irish production, which brings us the kooky story of love and friendship about a young man, Alan (Finbarr Delaney), who is not your average man. Alan is blessed with an unusual appearance and walk, is frequently harassed by local scumbags in a town which does not quite understand him or his ways. Over the course of the film, Alan learns to confront his demons, accept himself for who he is and find true love along the way in the form of Grace (Zoe Slusar).
A Bird In The Hand was entirely self-funded by first-time director David Brown, to a micro budget and is due for its world premiere at the Washington DC Independent Film Festival. The film was shot in and around Dublin, Ireland and features a score by Rían Trench, a strong central performance from Finbarr Delaney and cinematography from Padraig Conaty.
