Bobby Bottleservice, Rich Dicks, C-Czar, PubLIZity … Nick Kroll had no shortage of riotous, fully formed characters from his criminally underrated Comedy Central sketch series, “Kroll Show,” to spin into a live stage show. Which makes it all the more perplexing that he chose to go with Gil Faizon and George St. Geegland, a niche bit on an already niche comedy series featuring character types with whom 90 percent of Americans have zero familiarity. Two meshuggeneh roommates on Manhattan’s Upper West Side (“the coffee breath of neighborhoods”), Gil and George (John Mulaney) are a pair of aging never-beens whose failed...

Kroll Show may have come to an end, but don't despair: Few comedies in TV history have rewarded re-watchings as much as Nick Kroll's three-season opus. Every episode was chocked with in-jokes and references to previous episodes, often flitting across the screen in mere seconds, invisible to a casual viewer. Luckily, we got a treasure map. Just before last night's series finale, we talked to Kroll about the show's history and legacy, and during that conversation, the talk turned to Easter eggs. He revealed a ton of hidden jokes, which we are happy to itemize below. The two guys singing the cover of Bobby Bottleservice's "Broin' Country" song in the season finale, at Rich Dick Wendy Shawn's "Bris Mitzvah," are secret series regulars named Aidan and Dotan Horowitz. They're also the twins who were in "Gigolo House," and can be seen playing sperm inside Bobby Bottleservice in "Body Bouncers.

The second season of Kroll Show on Comedy Central features a bunch of familiar faces. There’s its star Nick Kroll, of course, re-creating favorites like the nebbish Gil Faison and lost Jersey Shore cast member Bobby Bottleservice. Regulars like Jon Daly and Jenny Slate are back, too, appearing alongside Kroll in sketches with a long shelf life. But comedy fans are seeing a lot more of their favorites: The season opened with Zach Galifianakis throwing cakes from a train all over Chelsea Peretti, and the guest-star list grows from there. We spoke to Kroll about working with his friends, romantic partners, and sometimes people he doesn’t think are all that funny. This season you’ve added moments between sketches where you break character and talk to your co-stars, like Jenny Slate and John Mulaney. How much has Kroll Show become a showcase for your friends who are also comedians?...

"Kroll Show," the new sketch series from comedian Nick Kroll ("The League), has been a sizable enough hit after only two episodes for Comedy Central to order a second 10-episode season. According to the network's president of content development and original programming Kent Alterman, this was practically a medical decision: "Nick plays his characters with such comedic conviction, it's become obvious he has a serious personality disorder. We hope another season will help him discover who he really is." The show, which is executive produced and written by Kroll, John Levenstein ("Arrested Development") and Jonathan Krisel ("Portlandia"), has been a success with Comedy Central's target male demographic. It features Kroll playing multiple characters, including some he first used in his stand-up act, like would-be entrepreneur and ladies' man Bobby Bottleservice. First season guest stars have...

The Kroll Show, which premiered two weeks ago on Comedy Central and was just renewed for a second season, was a long time coming for Nick Kroll. He has been doing stand-up and sketch, starring on The League, guest-starring on shows like Community and Parks and Recreation, and being a generally hilarious person for more than a decade now. And along the way, he's developed an arsenal of characters, some of which — like the dickish Bobby Bottleservice or the Mexican radio D.J. El Chupacabra — have become fixtures of Funny or Die and podcasts like "Comedy Bang! Bang!," and they all get regular spotlight time on Kroll Show. To gain perspective on his career path, Vulture thought it was best to have him interviewed by a fellow comedian who has known him along the way, Jenny Slate (Marcel the Shell With Shoes On, Saturday Night Live), who guested in...

Nick Kroll is about to be in a league all his own. The stand-up/actor/writer — who plays the shameless Ruxin on FX comedy The League — is taking center stage with Kroll Show, his sketch comedy series premiering tonight at 10:30 p.m. on Comedy Central. Piloted by Kroll, Jonathan Krisel (Portlandia), and John Levenstein (Arrested Development), Kroll Show features recurring characters, questionable facial hair, surprise Gatorade showers, and a human-canine speed-dating show. Plus: Appearances by comedic forces like Ed Helms, Adam Pally, Fred Arimsen, Jb Smoove, Maria Bamford, Jason Mantzoukas, and Chelsea Peretti! Sound pretty good? Hold on a sec.

While Nick Kroll might be best known for his guest spots on shows like Community and Parks and Recreation and for playing Ruxin on The League, those familiar with his stand-up and multiple appearances on podcasts like "Comedy Bang! Bang!" know the man has an impressive arsenal of ridiculous, hilarious characters. That's where Kroll Show comes in. Premiering on Comedy Central on January 16 at 10:30 p.m., the sketch show will feature all of his best-known characters: Bobby Bottleservice, Fabrice Fabrice, the "Oh hello" guys, and of course El Chupacabra. This clip is of the sketch "Rich Dicks" and comes from the February 27 episode. Starring Kroll and comedian Jon Daly as Aspen and Wendy, two dicks who are rich, it answers the questions: Does Aspen have a little bit of good inside of him? And where is the worst place to get your Vicodin?...
