The official trailer for the 12th and final season of Letterkenny touts a “last brawl” for Wayne — aka “the toughest guy” in town — and a “last call” for the gang at large.
TVLine’s exclusive first look at the final Letterkenny trailer also offers peeks at Katy pondering a change, a blackout that promises to get “stank,” the Skids struggling to define their relationship with the Hicks (after all these years!), and everyone’s overall feeling of being, hm, “stuck.”

When it comes to the Hanukkah Movie Industrial Complex, the Hallmarks and Lifetimes of the world are still playing catch-up. It wasn't until 2019 that the networks aired their first Hanukkah TV movies, and though they remain outnumbered among the dozens (or maybe hundreds?) of Christmas films released every year, they've steadily improved in quality over time. The celebration of the Festival of Lights has even carried over onto streaming: In 2022, Hulu dropped its first Hanukkah-specific movie, Menorah in the Middle, which is not a Malcolm in the Middle parody, but a romantic comedy featuring a few recognizable names.

It’s that time of year again, when we sit around a gigantic table of mediocre American food and pretend to be grateful for relatives we rarely speak to because they’re, shall we say, out of touch with the times. It’s a holiday built upon lies, considering we didn’t really treat Indigenous peoples with the whole “This land is your land” thing. It’s also stressful for broken families and children of divorce, who have to shuffle between homes or choose one parent to spend time with over the other,...

Bridge of the Doomed certainly can’t be accused of being a slow burn. Within the first few minutes, an army base comes under attack, and a group of civilians is overrun and eaten by zombies. And there’s no hesitation to put the bloody results on the screen. This is the zombie apocalypse 80s style, except it isn’t badly dubbed into English.
After the opening attack, General Vasquez sends a squad led by Lt Whitmore and Sgt. Hernandez to hold a bridge or destroy it in necessary, while they wait for reinforcements to arrive. Getting those reinforcements falls to the ominously named Colonel Charon.

The truest litmus test for how someone feels about the Christmas season is a simple question: is “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” a sad song about holiday loneliness, or a sweet song about persevering to celebrate life’s everyday joys? The genius of the song is that it equally serves both the glass half full and the glass half empty perspectives, which find themselves battling it out every December for ultimate superiority.

The In Memoriam section of the Academy Awards is an annual acknowledgement of industry figures who died in the previous year. This year’s rundown, however, has people talking for its high number of glaring omissions. Audiences picked up on several prominent names left off the reel, such as Luke Perry, Cameron Boyce and Jan-Michael Vincent, and one oversight that has genre fans particularly incensed was that of Sid Haig.
Haig, who sadly passed away in September, may not be a name that every film fan can immediately place, but he’s highly regarded among the genre community for a career that spanned sixty years and is approaching 150 separate credits. And his exclusion, whether by intent or oversight, is being taken as a further example of the horror genre being treated with disdain by those who make ‘proper’ and ‘true’ cinema.

As new audiences continue to discover Friends through various streaming platforms, the now-classic comedy remains one of the most popular shows on TV. In recent years, however, much criticism has been written online about the sitcom’s handling of various social issues — from its lack of diversity to its outdated jokes about sexuality — and how it fails to meet our social standards in 2020.

September 2019 brought with it the sad passing of actor and genre cinema legend Sid Haig, who’s perhaps most well known for playing Captain Spaulding from 2003’s House of 1000 Corpses and 2005’s The Devil’s Rejects. And in the recent 3 From Hell, the psychotic clown got to make one final appearance, though it wasn’t terribly substantial. Instead, Haig had a drastically reduced role when compared to the previous two outings, with Richard Brake’s Foxy becoming the new third member of the deadly trio.
It was certainly disappointing for fans to see the actor used so sparingly, but during the press tour for the threequel, director Rob Zombie had explained that Haig’s health was quickly deteriorating – which led to the reduced role – and that 3 From Hell was the horror icon’s final film. But as pointed out by the folks over at ScreenRant, this simply isn’t true.

When writer Nina Weinman heard Hallmark wanted to include Hanukkah in their annual “Countdown to Christmas” original movie slate for the 2019 holiday season, she was thrilled. Weinman was raised Jewish but now celebrates both Hanukkah and Christmas with her own family after marrying a man who is Christian. Weinman’s producing partner, Joel Rice, is also Jewish, and she notes they “enthusiastically threw our hats in the ring” to get the gig.
Their original movie, “Double Holiday,” which premieres Dec. 21, stars Carly Pope as a woman named Rebecca who joins her coworker rival Chris (Kristoffer Polaha) to plan a holiday party at their office. Rebecca is Jewish and is already steeped in celebrating Hanukkah with her family when the party planning begins, causing Chris to spend ample time at her house and learn about her traditions.
“We said everything that I wanted to say about how people celebrate Hanukkah,” Weinman tells Variety of the movie.

For several years now, Brittany Bristow has been building her resume with a slew of made-for-tv movies for Hallmark.

A new trailer for festive horror movie Hanukkah gives us a last look at horror legend Sig Haig, who sadly passed away in September at the age of 80.
Many years ago, Judah Lazarus (Haig), a serial murderer known as the Hanukiller, was shot dead right before he was about to sacrifice his young son Obadiah. In the intervening time, Obadiah disappeared without a trace, only to now resurface and take on his father’s bloody work as a force of warped morality, killing Jews not affording proper reverence to their faith. A number of twenty-somethings become targets of his wrath and, aided by a creepy rabbi who appears suspiciously knowledgeable about events, must embrace the teachings of the Torah if they want to survive the holidays.

So much for making the yuletide gay. Hallmark Channel is rolling out a total of 40 original holiday-themed movies across Hallmark and its sister network Hallmark Movies & Mysteries — not one of which features an Lgbtq character taking center stage.
And Lifetime, the network’s closest competitor in the made-for-tv holiday movie space, has a similarly poor track record: Out of 30 new original Christmas movies, none feature primary storylines about Lgbtq couples.
Lgbtq characters have appeared in Hallmark and Lifetime movies past and present — this year, Lifetime has four movies which feature queer relationships in supporting positions — but none have carried a holiday movie of their own as the co-owners of a candy cane company or lovers in Dollywood or whatever the premise may be.

Haim have released a new song “Hallelujah,” and no, it’s not a Leonard Cohen cover. The sister trio dropped the song accompanied by a video directed by their frequent collaborator, Paul Thomas Anderson.
The stripped-down track was co-written by Tobias Jesso Jr. and produced by Ariel Rechtshaid, Rostam Batmanglij and Danielle Haim. The video opens with Danielle alone on a dark stage, playing acoustic guitar. “I met two angels but they were in disguise,” she sings, before she tosses a chair to Este, who takes over on lead vocals.

Halloween is still a couple weeks away, but Food Network is already decking its halls with holiday content. This year, the cable channel is serving up more seasonal programming than ever, growing its themed episodes by 40% compared to 2018’s slate, and it kicked things off at the end of last month with some spooktacular specials.
The reason behind the big push into making the season brighter with more Halloween, Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Christmas and New Year’s Eve offerings is how much the shows lit up last year’s Nielsen data for Food Network, which scored its highest-rated fourth quarter since 2015 (+9% vs. prior year), largely driven by the holiday-programming lineup.
“Looking at last year’s ratings and what we had done in 2017, we definitely, in both years — and never before as aggressively as this year — have taken a big step up in the volume of content,” Food Network president Courtney White told TheWrap.

Last month saw the sad passing of actor and genre cinema legend Sid Haig, whose most famous role just might be that of Captain Spaulding from 2003’s House of 1000 Corpses and 2005’s The Devil’s Rejects. With the recent 3 From Hell, the psychotic clown was able to make one final appearance, but to the disappointment of some viewers, the character effectively took on a supporting part, with Richard Brake’s Foxy serving as the new third member of the film’s titular trio.
As director Rob Zombie explained to Entertainment Weekly last month, Haig’s part was significantly reduced due to the actor’s declining health. And in a more recent interview with Kerrang!, the filmmaker and frequent Haig collaborator recalled how they anticipated the backlash but felt they made the right decision:
“It was kind of a drag, because I knew people would wonder about that. And especially, you...

This past weekend, we lost a cult horror icon.
Sid Haig, the man best known as Rob Zombie’s murderous clown across The Devil’s Rejects and House Of 1000 Corpses, passed away at the age of 80, sending the Internet into a state of mourning. Taking to Instagram, Haig’s wife Susan L. Oberg offered what was perhaps the perfect send-off, all the while asking for privacy and respect in their time of loss.
In her statement, Olberg admitted that Haig’s death came as a shock to the entire family. The cult performer had initially suffered an accident that put him in the ICU a fortnight ago, though appeared to be making a recovery in time for the arrival of Rob Zombie’s 3 From Hell, in which he reprised his role as Captain Spaulding.
Alas, the long-in-development horror sequel will now be remembered as one of Sid Haig’s final films,...

Dick Miller, a prolific screen actor best known for his role as Murray Futterman in the 1984 classic horror film “Gremlins,” has died. He was 90.
With a career spanning more than 60 years, Miller has made hundreds of on screen appearances, beginning in the 1950s with legendary director and producer Roger Corman. It was then that he starred as Walter Paisley – a character the actor would reprise throughout his career – in the cult classic “A Bucket of Blood,” before going on to land roles on projects such as “The ‘Burbs,” “Fame” and “The Terminator.”
Miller also boasts a long history of high-profile director partnerships, working with the likes of James Cameron, Ernest Dickerson, Martin Scorsese, John Sayles and, perhaps most notably, Joe Dante, who used Miller in almost every project he helmed.

Natalie Portman experienced an only-in-Hollywood mix-up, she revealed on Thursday's episode of Late Night.
After discussing Hanukkah with host Seth Meyers, Portman said, "I had a weird Jewish holiday thing this year."
She explained that her cousin, Meryl, moved from New York to Los Angeles with her husband last year. "We've been inviting them to all our Jewish holidays and everything and the last three holidays she didn't reply," said Portman. "I was like, 'Did I do something to offend her? Did I hurt her feelings? Is she holding a grudge?'...
