[Review] The Boulet Brothers’ Halfway To Halloween TV Special Serves Up Tasty Treats For Horror Fans
Hello, uglies. Are you tired of waiting a whole year for that one special day when all us weirdos can feel normal? Well, Dracmorda and Swanthula Boulet feel your pain and have put together an irresistible event to whet the appetite of horror fans of all shapes and sizes. The Boulet Brothers’ Halfway to Halloween TV Special is a star-studded variety show from the spooky drag super monsters and one piece in the next phase of their diabolical plan that they’ve been hinting at. Once again collaborating with Shudder, the Boulets are briefly leaving behind the shade and viciousness of their drag competition to dabble in a near hour-long spectacle of scripted skits and celebrity cameos.

Feature debut of Cho Eun-ji, who has been making a name in the Korean film industry as an actress of films like “The Villainess” and “Concubine” since the beginning of the millennium, “Perhaps Love” is a romantic comedy that tries to stray away from the norms through a number of different ways and an intensely episodic approach.

Hyun is a famous novelist whose life is in shambles, despite the fact that the novel he wrote several years ago is still keeping him famous. The reasons are many. For starters, he seems unable to write a new one, to the despair of his best friend and publisher, Soon-mo. His second wife has left for the US along with her young daughter, which has led him to coming closer to his ex-wife, Mi-ae, who is dating, unbeknownst to him, Soon-mo. On a rather difficult night,...

Directed by Dae-seung Kim, The Concubine is a South Korean period drama that shows us how rigid the Royal Court was in that country, or how it’s imagined, of course. The film stars Yeo-Jeong Cho as Hwa-Yeon (she’s listed as Yeo-Jeong Jo here), a woman forced into various circumstances by the men around her. (When are women not?) Specifically, the story takes place during the Joseon Dynasty, a Korean kingdom that lasted for approximately five centuries. We first meet Hwa-Yeon, the daughter of a noble family, with Kwon Yoo...
