Ron interrupts preparations for the show to announce that the theatre has to be closed pending a council safety inspection. Everyone is sent home but Tam returns to the theatre when she realises she left a brooch behind. Sneaking in to the closed building, Tam discovers a shipment of birds in loading bay and is caught by Ellis, Spider, and their boss - Ron. Back at the Henderson home, Wal is surprised by how much Steve knows about what's been going on but warns him that he's in over his head - Harry may be smuggling birds but they are bring drugs back. Tam's failure to return home raises concerns sending Marty and Brains to the theatre. Marty faces his fear of heights to climb a ladder and peak in skylight and he sees Tam tied up. Brains goes for help and Wal calls the police. Not content to wait, Steve and the others go on their own. Marty stops Ron from drugging Tam and the rest of the kids burst into the theatre and apprehend Harry, Ron and Ellis. Wal arrives to greet Tam for the first time since his return but the police have questions for Wal and take him away for questioning. Helen is worried the future of the youth centre will be at risk when news of the bust gets out. Wal is released by the police who have insufficient evidence against him and Wal promises to Tam he'll never go away again.
