- Cowboy is settling in to the Henderson's causing Mike to push him to look for a job. Char asks her dad to hire Cowboy as a boat hand but his first day at sea is spent mostly leaning over the side of the boat.
- Steve receives the letter from the museum and is disappointed that the markings are fake, he tells Andy who says nobody had been near the cave because he was there all the time. Steve phones the museum where Mrs Phelps abruptly hangs up on him for wasting her time. Tam goes to see Cowboys dad to reason with him, only he says Cowboy has to stand on his own two feet. Mike and Wal continue to fight in front of Steve and Tam and Steve blows up at Mike. Char gets Cowboy a job on fishing on her dad's boat, only he makes a fool out of himself and gets sea sick. Wheeler threatens Wal when he tries to pull out of ripping off Tam and Steve. Mike and Pat finally announce their engagement to everyone and Tam and Steve are thrilled. Steve goes to the museum to confront Mrs Phelps and when she realizes he is the real Steve Henderson, they work out what Rutt did, Steve and Mike think they have finally got Wheeler.

When Steve discovers the woman from the museum has come and gone without seeing him, he realises she must have made a mistake and makes plans to go to Melbourne to sort it out. Wheeler approaches Wal wanting results and both men threaten to expose the other, but Wheeler points out to Wal that he has more to lose. Steve talks to Ms Phelps at the museum and soon realises Rutt impersonated him. Tam encourages Cowboy to continue his search for work, even if it means taking a job at a bank. Mike tells Tam that Pat has accepted his marriage proposal. Steve returns home shortly after with news of Wheeler's duplicity. Together with Mike and a reluctant Wal, the kids confront Wheeler. Steve tells Wheeler his hopes for his development are finished, prompting Wheeler to expose the truth behind Wal's return - he's on Wheeler's payroll. Wheeler found him and paid for his flight in exchange for a share of the sale of Henderson's Point. Steve and Tam turn to their father but he is gone.
