"Yaoguai," literally "strange ghost," is a general Chinese term for supernatural monster. Not all yaoguai are beasts, and not all are malevolent. Many started as fallen celestial beings or ordinary plant, animal, or rock spirits who gradually (over hundreds of years) gained power and sentience. One common yaoguai is the fox demon who, appearing as a beautiful woman, seduces men and drains their life force.
Mulan mentions finding something worth fighting for paraphrasing the song "A Girl Worth Fughting For" from the movie Mulan.
