The vintage, 1930s microphone used in some of the interview scenes was rented from Kilroy's Classic Malt Shop Supply Company in Minneapolis. When it was checked out, the proprietors of Kilroy's (Paul Panser and Kevin Hammerbeck) weren't aware the microphone actually worked, but in fact it did. The sound in those scenes is actually coming through the vintage microphone. When production was concluded and the filmmakers told the staff at Kilroy's that the microphone worked properly, Kilroy's waived the rental fee.
