A fantastic episode and one of the best that LOA has to offer
lewisdabson21 May 2019
This episode was great, it was funny, heartfelt especially with shifu lying to save po and his chee. Kapa was badass and his voice/Design was cool. I would even say it works better then kung fu panda 2 did. The episodes climax and characters are well done here compare to other ep's in the series also. See it if you haven't already

Best KFP:LoA episode imo

Warning: Spoilers
This episode was great, the tone is much closer to the films with it being very funny while knowing when to take it very seriously through the threat of Ke-Pa, who is also extremely funny whenever he makes jokes, but is still one of the most threatening antagonists in the franchise, I mean, he literally killed Po if that sapling Shifu and Oogway planted in the first film couldn't grow well and died as a sapling (oh yeah, that was another detail I loved), and his death was pretty sad tbh, so was the conflict of Shifu needing to be killed by Ke-Pa in order to be defeated and this honestly should've been the finale considering one big complaint I have with the series, while good and Po is still likeable, is that Po is somehow very egotistical which gets on my nerves, and here, it does make sense since this is after Po literally deflected a cannonball to save China from Lord Shen, and after that, even in the third film, Po was egotistical, being more absorbed in the fame he got which prevented him from realizing who he truly is and is much closer to canon than most other episodes since some guy made good explanations why Hero's Chi and normal chi is different, and makes sense why he was surprised when Shifu demonstrated chi and that the Peach Tree never made an appearance in the third film, and outside LoA, Ke-Pa is referenced. And as said, Ke-Pa is a very funny yet threatening antagonist and simple beauty at its finest in the franchise, with Alfred Molina giving him an intimidating and powerful voice, to which his voice as a demon is much different than what the voice he uses mostly but then again, his evil laugh is horrible. The animation is fluid and good for the budget but man, the fur textures are still awful, and honestly, everything after Ke-Pa orders his demons to destroy the village and Shifu and Tigress taking the dying Po to where the Peach Tree stood is honestly rushed, could've benefited another episode, should've been truly a literal 1 hour tv finale special as I honestly think Po just got off to easy, but things return to normal once Ke-Pa attacks Po after he imprisoned his demons.
