Just before filming the final scene of the film, director Brannigan Carter was inadvertently bitten by his dog while trying to help the dog when it got its paw stuck in his crate. His left middle finger was slashed to the bone-but after a few minutes of cursing and some whiskey and bandages, Carter shot the scene anyway with gloves on to hide the injury.
Actress Rebecca Pearcy is actually from Essex, England, and her accent accidentally slipped multiple times in the film-and usually prompted laughter from Brannigan Carter who then had to do another take.
Brannigan Carter moved into the house where the fight scene at the beginning of the film was shot.
The entire film was originally shot in 2009-10, but Brannigan Carter was deployed to Afghanistan in late 2010 on the exact wrap date of principal photography. While he was gone, every hard drive that had backups of the film died. So Carter had to re-shoot the entire film. Most of the cast was able to return, but all the leads had to be recast.
In the Director's Cut of the film, there is a scene where Bo and Robbie McDoogan fight to the death in the last scene of the "Prelude" short film. Actors Josh Lentz and Kent West choreographed and performed their own stunts just 30 minutes before shooting.
