FYI- I love this show. For the first six seasons my Granddaughter and I bonded and shared life lessons while she grew from age five to 11. This episode left us little to discuss because little to know family support can be used as a mechanism to inspire the lovingly inspired comedy that this show is known for.
Bob is invited to be a guest chef for dinner on a recently docked cruise ship, with the Belchers in tow. Linda is given a Gold Card for charges the famile may incur during this short time. Bob is sent to start his prep cook but soon learns that things are not what they appear to be. I found it odd that once the Belchers were told of the true situation they were all in, they didn't seem to care- even though Bob needed their help. Everyone was out for themselves, and the second act of this show was Bob's family indulging themselves and having their needs met. Bob finds that some of the food to be served is rotten and only then he is able to enlist Louise to help him. She does OK but Bob needs more help than she can supply. If this were any other episode he would have had Louise round up the whole family for help. I'm trying not to list any spoilers, so it's difficult for me to show how much each family member should have been concerned regarding their circumstances and sought help from each other-mainly Bob. Bob was finally able to enlist the aide of some crew members and prevail. Gene had his first near-love experience, so we had a moral to discuss after all.
