This movie was financed by the Italian region of Sardinia, that thought the money would be used to finance a documentary about the city of Nuoro. But the director Frogheri used most of the money to renovate his bakery and a little part to make this movie by using his friends as actors

The movie has gained a cult following like many other Italian movies classified in the genre of "Italian trash", after the Italian YouTuber Yotobi reviewed it in 2012: his review is the movie currently has around 2 million views

The titles is a play on words as "primavera" means spring but also the redemption and "granito" means granite but also the rough youth that comes of a world of crime. So it can be translated to "the redemption of the criminal youth"
