In this episode, it's very obvious that the showrunners are trying to hide Amanda Righetti's (Grace Van Pelt) pregnancy. She's either always sitting behind a desk, or when standing she's behind huge boxes of files, etc. She would give birth to her child 4 days after the episode aired.
This episode's title, "Days of Wine and Roses" is taken from a classic 1962 film starring Jack Lemmon and Lee Remick as two people struggling with alcoholism. It won many awards and nominations that year, including Oscars and BAFTA. The expression itself, "They are not long, the days of wine and roses", was written by the 19th century English poet Ernest Dowson.
Red-haired actresses: Kathe Mazur, Amy Aquino, Michelle LaRue (the victim, in flashbacks).
The exterior establishing shot titled "Judge Davis' Chambers, Sacramento, California" that's onscreen for less than second at 00:40 is of the Federal Building, with City Hall and the top of the Customs Tower visible in the background in Government Center, Boston, Mass - 3009 miles from Sacramento.
