- The bakers go all out to impress Mary and Paul with two types of delicious sponge puddings. The technical challenge sees them face a Queen of Pudding, a recipe direct from the archives of the Queen of Bakes, Mary Berry. The final test is a showstopping strudel that stretches the bakers to their limits.—Anonymous
- This week, pudding week, is the unofficial battle of the sexes with the remaining women being situated on one side of the tent, the remaining men on the other side. They will be staying within the British comfort zone of being asked to make sponge puddings for the signature challenge, the difficulty being to make twelve individual ones in two different flavors, each with an accompanying sauce. The technical challenge becomes more difficult in each being asked to make Mary's recipe for the multi-component queen of puddings, perfecting one component which could compromise another. And each is asked to make the Austrian classic, the strudel, as the showstopper, it needing to be family sized and professionally decorated, Mary and Paul arguably looking primarily for the thin, crispy pastry layers. Late in the weekend, a few mishaps somewhat unrelated to the quality of a bake may end the competition for some, while the baking disasters equally as problematic for others.—Huggo
