The film actually started shooting in March 2010 but spent almost two years in post production, that time the director made two more short films and started work on his second feature.
The film is made up of four short stories that the director wrote and merge together. Including the directors first short film "The Jumper" made in 2004.
The Director actually wanted to make his first feature film, "The Last British Execution", but knew that no one would give him funding to make it without a previous track record. So he took four of his short film scripts together to make "Towns" first, to prove he could make a feature.
There was a fifth short film story, but Iain dropped it as it was too dark and not in keep with the black comedy genera. It involved three burglars robbing the wrong house and getting caught by a gang. Only one burglar gets away, taking something of importance to the gang, the gang then torture them to find out where he could be.
The opening scene is based on Iain Cash's first short film the Jumper, 2004.
