Claudia Winkleman deserves a BAFTA

Warning: Spoilers
Everything about this show was fantastic; some of the best TV I've seen in years.

It was dark, slickly done, camp, infuriating and nail-bitingly tense. We also had the pleasure of having some very normal yet totally wonderful people from all walks of life on our screens; a very diverse cast.

For me this was the most satisfying ending, with all of the winners totally deserving that money. Putting myself in all 5 of the finalists shoes is hard, I think I would have had a full blown crisis-cum-panic attack come day two, especially if I were a traitor. They all played so well.

This also wasn't just a gameshow by the end. It was a pretty fascinating look into the human psyche. I literally can't wait for the next season, which I hope they jazz up in a way to make it feel just as fresh as this one.

Give. Claudia. Winkleman. A. BAFTA.

(And her stylist, those outfits were fire)

Warning: Spoilers
The first series of The Traitors seemed to have got some positive word of mouth. Which meant more people tuned in for the climax as to who would win the prize money.

Based on a Dutch format. The BBC has set the series in a highland castle. They have added a game show element which seems to be inspired by I'm A Celebrity.

They have also used real people as Faithfuls and Traitors. The Dutch version has celebrities.

In essence it reminded me of an element from the first series of Big Brother on Channel 4. When contestant Nick Bateman was manipulating the voting process and was confronted by other housemates. He was later evicted for breaking the rules.

The finale still has two Traitors with a couple of dim Faithfuls left behind. The kind who might easily give their bank details to an African prince who wants to move millions of dollars to a safe bank account.

It was really a case of whether Traitors Wilf and Kieron can stay united and split the prize money or will the others find them out.

Unfortunately Wilf was too calculating and Kieron departed with a parting shot aimed at him.

Like a lot of these reality shows, it was so heavily edited, it even has a credited writer. In short a lot of the tension is manipulated but it got acres of press coverage.

I guess ITV and Channel 4 have already contacted the Dutch rights holders to find out how long the BBC has the contract for. It will end up like Bake Off and move channels in a few years.
