“Easy On Me” — Adele

The first batch of winners at the 2023 Grammy Awards has been announced! The show is far from over, and Beyoncé has already become the most-awarded artist in the Recording Academy's history. Other performers are also cleaning up with exciting wins. This year's main event is, once again, hosted by Trevor Noah - who served as the Mc in 2021 and 2022 - who, in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, teased that it'll be "the most star-studded room the Grammys has been for many, many years."
The 2023 Grammy nominee pool was stacked with heavy-hitting artists. On Nov. 15, the Recording Academy revealed the 2023 nominations across all 91 categories, some of which were presented by past Grammy winners like Olivia Rodrigo, John Legend, and Machine Gun Kelly.

Exclusive: Amazon Studios is finalizing deals for Criminal, a TV adaptation of Ed Brubaker and artist Sean Phillips’ bestselling crime comic book series, sources tell Deadline.
Details are scarce but the project, written by Brubaker, who serves as executive producer and showrunner, is described as an interlocking universe of crime stories based on his award-winning comic book series. I hear a writers room for the potential series is up and running. A rep for Amazon Studios declined comment.
Nick Pepper, Amazon Studios’ Head of US SVOD TV Development and Series – Wholly Owned, and his lieutenant Matt King, Head of Tentpole, Genre and Universe Development of wholly owned content, are believed to have championed bringing in Criminal for development. As President of Legendary Television, Pepper signed Brubaker into a development deal there in 2019 and, along with EVP Development King, put Criminal in development at the indie studio, which is expected to...

Let’s get this out of the way right now. This list is wrong. Although I try to be as objective as possible when putting it together there is no way to make it completely void of my subjective opinion. So why do this? For one I enjoy doing it as it pushes me to read comics I would not normally read. The biggest reason is that my favorite thing is to recommend comics and this allows me to do just that. Lastly, I hope it shows just how varied comics can be and the amazing content there is each year.
The other part of this is the criteria used to create this list. Comics provide a unique challenge in end of year list creation due to the many different formats they are released. Tagline: "Kill or Be Killed." Eyes of the Dead will be released this Summer. The film is a 6:15 film production. Previously titled 6:15, this zombie thriller was completed in 2015. In 2016, Eyes of the Dead had its World Premiere at the Shriekfest Film Festival. This title is shot to look like a continuous scene, sometimes disorienting critics. Still, fans of ravenous film fare can find the film's release trailer and poster here. Shot by director Ben Samuels, Eyes of the Dead has a large indie cast. The film centrally stars: Rosebud Baker (The Maladjusted), Matt Riker ("Blurred"), Montana Marks (Camp Dread) and Amy Rutledge. Most of these actors can be seen in the latest trailer. In the clip, a family struggles to survive in a zombie apocalypse. Eyes of the Dead is being released on Digital platforms, through Red Hound Films. The Digital release is slated for August 24th. Shot through one character's point-of-view,...

Sacha Baron Cohen ended the premiere episode of his new Showtime comedy “Who Is America?” with a shocking 10-minute segment in which he introduced a plan to give guns to schoolchildren in order to start preparing young Americans to defend themselves. The segment, titled “Kill or Be Killed,” featured Cohen in character as anti-terror expert Colonel Erran Morad. Morad’s plan is to give guns to kindergarteners and to children as young as three years old.
The segment found Morad recruiting Virginia Citizens Defense League president Philip van Cleave to his cause. Cleave appeared with “Morad” in a children’s commercial to promote the initiative. The campaign tried to make guns appealing to kindergarteners by dressing up the weapons in animal costumes (see the above photo) and giving the guns names such as “Puppy Pistol.” Cohen also interviewed several Republican politicians who expressed interest in arming kindergarteners, including former congressman Joe Walsh.

Important is the kind of word that gets tossed around a lot when critiquing TV shows. Along with its many adjectives — relevant, vital, urgent, essential, etc. — the designation boosts scripted series from “The Looming Tower” and “The Handmaid’s Tale,” to “Scandal” and “The Oa,” noting their political, cultural, or storytelling significance. Unscripted fare, like “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver” and “Born This Way,” snags the same praise. Some warrant theses descriptors more than others, but few comedies have tried as hard to earn them as Sacha Baron Cohen’s new Showtime series, “Who Is America?”

Carrie Coon’s steady slide into sci-fi territory — including a surprise role in this week’s “Avengers: Infinity War” — appears to be continuing apace, thanks to an intriguing new role in the sci-fi action thriller, “Kin.” The film is the feature directorial debut of brothers Jonathan and Josh Baker, based on their short film “Bag Man,” which debuted at SXSW in 2015.
The film follows a young teenager (Myles Truitt) and his adopted brother (Jack Reynor), who are forced to go on the lam when a baddie criminal (James Franco), along with a pack of federal agents (including Coon!), and what’s billed as “otherworldly soldiers” start chasing after them. What’s all the fuss? A mysterious weapon that the brothers possess, one that might not be entirely of this world. The feature will expand out the short’s concept, adding in Reynor’s big brother character, along with Dennis Quaid...

Twisted Romance #1 suffers from a problem you often see with first issues. In an attempt to do too much you end up having an issue that does not do much at all. It opens up with a plotline that is often seen in classic noir and crime stories. A desperate woman seeks the help of a man who is known to get rid of problems. In this case, her husband has been overly enjoying time with another woman so she wants him gone.Enter Heartbreak Incorporated to help her with her problem.
Mackie who runs the Heartbreak Incorporated would never be confused with Humphrey Bogart or other Private Eye detectives. With his tight jeans, flashy shades, and lanky figure he looks the ideal design of the modern-day hipster. To complicate matters further his skills appear to come from a supernatural place.

John Wick director Chad Stahelski has jumped on board a new film project with his producing partner Basil Lwanyk, and it's a good one! He is set to helm a feature film adaptation of the Image Comics comic book Kill or Be Killed from Ed Brubaker, who is best known for his work on Captain America and the creator of the Winter Soldier.
If you're not familiar with the story, it follows a depressed college student who attempts to commit suicide. "He survives due to unlikely events but is soon visited by a demon who explains that he was the one who spared the student's life. But there's a price to be paid: Going forward, the young man will be allowed to live one month for every person he kills."
That's such a fascinating and dark concept that will certainly make for a crazy film and it's a great project for Stahelski to take on.

According to new reports, director Chad Stahelski ("John Wick") will adapt Image Comics' monthly comic book series "Kill or Be Killed", created by Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips, as an action thriller feature film:
"...in "Kill or Be Killed", 'Dylan' is a depressed college student who fails at an attempted suicide.
"He is soon visited by a 'demon' who explains it was he who spared Dylan's life.
The comic then examines the consequences of vigilante violence and its effects on Dylan’s loved ones..."

The use of first person narration is often looked down upon by people. Some say it is a lazy way to provide information or exposition about a story. It is typically more accepted in the crime genre because it is an expected trope of that style of filmmaking and story telling. Ed Brubaker’s use of it in Kill or Be Killed is quickly becoming one of my personal favorites. There is a self-awareness that allows him to speak directly to the reader without it taking you out of the book. He will bring you in by asking the question you were just about to ask to make it feel like he is speaking directly to you. There are a lot of elements that make Kill or Be Killed one of my favorite current series and that is one of the biggest.

When you don't get what you want, just scalp 'em.
Eli showed his dark side on The Son Season 1 Episode 3, but it was only in his mind. Yet, we can't help but wonder, if he could, would he have done it?
The meeting with the bankers didn't go as expected as the bankers weren't impressed with the McCullough Ranch financials. What the main banker guy really wanted was just to meet the famous Eli McCullough and buy him a steak dinner.
He knew way ahead of time that he was going to invest in land that more than likely did not have oil under it.
Quite understandably, Eli was upset as it seemed like a complete waste of his time. He didn't appreciate the banker's admiration and could care less about enjoying a good steak on someone else's tab.
If he could have gotten away with it, he would have...

Does Barry want to be the kind of hero that kills?
It's something the speedster considered when Grodd arrived on Earth-1 with an army of gorillas on The Flash Season 3 Episode 14 "Attack on Central City."
But was he pondering the option because he believed it was the right thing to do? Or because he wanted to save Iris?
The answer likely lies somewhere in the middle.
It's understandable for Barry to be frustrated. As he said, Grodd manages to come back stronger each time. The only way to make sure that doesn't happen again is for the gorilla to die.
Barry even questioned if he made the right choice letting Solovar live on The Flash Season 3 Episode 13. He started to think mercy might not be the way to go.
Iris: Wait. You want to kill Grodd?
Barry: Why not? That's how their society in Gorilla City works. Kill or be killed.

“Kill or Be Killed” (2015) aka “Red on Yella, Kill a Fella,” is a low budget horror-western released on DVD by Rlj Entertainment that also attempts to be a tribute to the spaghetti westerns of the 60s and 70s and Sam Peckinpah’s “The Wild Bunch.” The plot is about a gang of outlaws in the year 1900 traveling 500 miles through Texas to get to a stash of gold that’s hidden at the bottom of a well in the sand dunes of Galveston Beach. The group is hounded on their journey by a mysterious being and one by one the gang members get picked off.
Like Peckinpah’s Wild Bunch these outlaws are a motley crew. Their leader, Claude “Sweet Tooth” Barbee, played by co-writer/director Justin Meeks, is very loosely based on real-life outlaw Sam Bass. As Meeks portrays him, Barbee is a man obsessed with...
