A documentary on the legal woes between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard headlines the new spring lineup from U.K. broadcaster Channel 4.
At the channel’s Content Showcase in London, chief content officer Ian Katz unveiled a slate of “purposeful, provocative but never predictable” programming that he hopes will get people “thinking, arguing and asking questions about the world in which we live.”
“Depp vs Heard” will be a three-part series by BAFTA-nominated series director Emma Cooper, investigating the notorious defamation trial that captivated global audiences for three straight months last year. The case — dubbed the world’s first ‘Tik Tok trial’ — was a global media event and raised significant issues regarding violence, gender and the nature of justice in the post-truth era.
Other titles announced include “Partygate: The True Story,” from the makers of BAFTA-winning “Killed By My Debt.” The docudrama promises a deep dive into the political...

Quiver Distribution is premiering a new trailer aimed squarely at action fans this Monday. The Bandit trailer presents a film about seemingly ordinary men up to no good. Based on the remarkable true story of the Flying Bandit, the film stars Josh Duhamel, Elisha Cuthbert, and Mel Gibson. Allan Ungar directs from a script written by Kraig Wenman.
The Bandit trailer teases the story of Gilbert Galvan Jr. (Josh Duhamel), a charismatic career criminal who uses more disguises than Hitman’s Agent 47 to rob banks in broad daylight. As Gilbert tumbles deeper down a robbery-driven rabbit hole, he discovers that his obsession will lead to his life falling into chaos if he doesn’t walk away while the getting is good.
Here’s the official logline for Bandit:
In 1985, Gilbert Galvan Jr (Josh Duhamel), a charming career criminal, escapes from a US prison in Michigan and crosses the border into Canada,...

The filmmakers behind “Tiger” and “Fed Up” are teaming with the producer of “Jiro Dreams of Sushi” on a new investigative documentary into food safety.
Entitled “Poisoned,” the film will be directed by Stephanie Soechtig and executive produced by Jeff Benedict and produced by Ross Dinerstein’s Campfire. It will be based on Benedict’s book, “Poisoned: The True Story of the Deadly E. Coli Outbreak That Changed the Way Americans Eat.”
“‘Poisoned’ began with my interest in writing about the Jack in the Box E. coli infections in 1993 that sickened over 750 children, four of whom died,” said Benedict in a statement. “But once I entered that world, it became clear the story was much bigger than one outbreak. It’s the same broken system behind each of these horrific events, and while we’ve become more vigilant about what we eat, the issues plaguing the industry rage on.”

One of the things about modern Hollywood is that sometimes, if you want something to happen, you have just do it yourself — a lesson “Castle” and “Firefly” star Nathan Fillion has learned more than once.
In the video game world, one of the industry’s most popular franchises is the “Uncharted” series, a swashbuckling adventure series reminiscent of a modern-day “Indiana Jones.” It’s a premise that seems ripe for adaptation — it’s certainly more accessible than the high concept weirdness of “Assassin’s Creed.” But efforts to adapt the series to film have floundered, despite many high profile directors being involved, including Seth Gordon, Neil Burger, and David O. Russell.
While the games use the talents of motion capture and voice artist Nolan North to bring its protagonist to life, Fillion has been a fan favorite to play the main role of Nathan Drake in an on-screen adaptation (a...

Have you heard of this game? Marvel Avengers Academy? It's like The Simpson's Tapped Out or Family Guy... something, something. They are those "build a city and watch the people do stuff" games. The same people who made those, made a game called Marvel Avengers Academy. It's like a High School Version of the Avengers and Marvel Properties. Is it cheesy? Yes. Is it freemium? Yes. Is it actual something I enjoy? Absolutely!
Now that I've outed myself as a player of this "waste of time" game, I've got news about their next event. The event revolves around the Multiverse, which has been explored quite a bit recently with the comics. An enemy has arrived from the future known as Maestro, the super-smart evil version of the Hulk. He's brought different versions of Marvel Characters to battle the students of Avengers University including Noir Thor, Future Cap, and Original Bucky.

I had no idea this action film Gridlocked even existed until a Gt reader emailed me this red-band trailer for it. The trailer is insanely action-packed, and it looks like a hell of an entertaining movie that follows a former Swat leader named David Hendrix and hard-partying movie star named Brody Walker who are on a ride-along together. That ride-along is cut short when a police training facility is attacked by a team of mercenaries. The trailer sure does a good job of getting you pumped up! The vibe of the film could be likened to The Raid, only without the insane martial arts.
The film has got a kickass cast that includes Dominic Purcell (Prison Break), Stephen Lang (Avatar), Vinnie Jones (Snatch) , Cody Hackman (Tapped Out), Danny Glover (Lethal Weapon), WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus, and Saul Rubinek (True Romance).
The movie will be released in the Us on June 14th.

The big story heading into Thursday’s Smackdown was the aftermath of Seth Rollins’ loss to John Cena. The WWE Champion tapped out in the middle of the ring to the Stf, a controversial and risky booking decision for a champ already made to look so weak throughout his reign.
However, the match didn’t go all Cena’s way. Rollins legitimately busted the Us Champion’s nose open with a heavy knee strike to the face, an injury which didn’t hinder the bout (and even arguably made it more exciting).
Although Smackdown typically sees less of the top stars in action than the average episode of Raw, this week’s edition did feature Rollins heavily, as well as Dean Ambrose and Kevin Owens.
Smackdown is often derided for its lack of storyline progression, and while nothing ground-shaking occurred this week, the show still had its fair share of impressive,...

Well it’s that time of year again – the one where websites across the globe churn out Top 10 list after top ten list. So why should we be any different?! Yet whilst we may be following the predictable end of year lists, I can guarantee that my list is anything but predictable, featuring films from across the globe: including the Us, Canada, Italy, Australia, New Zealand and even good old Blighty!
This year more than ever there has been film after film that knocked it out of the park for me – which is why my Top 10 list has Two sections: the Top 10 and then the pick of 35(!) more brilliant movies (I would have loved this list to be a Top 45, honestly). So what’s my criteria? Well it has to be a movie I’ve seen this year, one that was released this year, i.e. making its UK debut,...

When Electronic Arts teamed up with Fox to roll out The Simpsons: Tapped Out two years ago, game runner Stewart Burns didn't think it would really go anywhere. For Burns, also a longtime Simpsons staffer, the app was more a passion project than anything else. In the years since the freemium city-building game has been available to download, however, Tapped Out has generated a rabid fan base, one that — gasp! — you might say rivals that of the actual show. As the on-air counterpart's 26th season approaches, Burns and Co. have unveiled an in-game update, dubbed Clash of Clones, that allows players to not only build their own Springfields, but also to destroy other Springfields à la the popular Clash of Clans mobile game (which Burns says several Simpsons writers play). The update is available to play until October 7, at which point the game's third Treehouse of Horror installment begins.

“We’re really going to be pushing the envelope in terms of the action,” said Ungar. “It’s going to remain grounded, but it will pack a punch. You’re going to see Cuba Gooding Jr like you’ve never seen him before. It’s going to be exciting.”
Ungar previously wrote and directed the Mma thriller Tapped with Michael Biehn and Anderson Silva, which Lionsgate releases in May.

See that kid on the right? The one staring at Mma fighter Krzysztof Soszyznki? Yeah. That's Cody Hackman - a five time world karate champion punching a little above his weight class in upcoming Mma set fight drama Tapped. Lucky for Hackman he's got cinematic badass Michael Biehn along with Anderson Silva and Lyoto Machida in his corner. Also lucky for him is that director Allan Ungar has clearly figured out how to capture the energy of Mma style fighting.A disgruntled teenager, sent to do community service at a rundown Karate school, enters an Mma tournament to face the man who killed his parents. You wouldn't go too far wrong considering this an Mma spin on The Karate Kid and with Anderson Silva set to defend...

The best part about Allan Ungar’s upcoming Mma flick “Tapped” is that it co-stars Krzysztof Soszynski, a real-life Mma fighter who previously had to lose to an overweight Kevin James in “Here Comes the Boom”. In “Tapped”, Soszynski will only have to suffer the indignity of losing to a teenager. But hey, at least the kid is in shape, right? I’m just kidding, of course. There’s plenty to like about Ungar’s film, especially if you’re in the mood for a little face-punching and head-knocking action. It looks like it’s got plenty of that, so that’s a plus. Also a plus? Michael Biehn and the Karate Kid’s greatest nemesis, Martin Kove, are also in this thing. Check out the first teaser trailer for “Tapped” below. And yes, karate dojos are apparently involved. A disgruntled teenager, sent to do community service at a run-down Karate school,...

Now, I'm willing to concede that Michael Biehn can stare down just about anyone, but put him in the octagon with a mixed martial arts fighting champion? Well ... that's probably not going to actually happen in Allan Ungar's Tapped, but they'll certainly be in spitting distance of one another.Biehn stars in the upcoming revenge flick set against the backdrop of mixed martial arts, anchoring a cast that includes Martin Kove, Anderson Silva, Lyoto Machida, Krzysztof Soszyznki, Nick Bateman and Cody Hackman. A disgruntled teenager, sent to do community service at a rundown Karate school, enters an Mma tournament to face the man who killed his parents.Yes, I suppose you could consider this an Mma Karate Kid with Biehn playing Mr Miyagi should you choose...
