Slightly funny, boring for the most part

If only this movie was funny in a quickier way...because it took too long to actually get there, real business of being amusing or interesting but for the most part I was not involved in it at all except for the fine acting of its creator and leading star Anthony Boyle (of whom I got to know better, previously, in "The Plot Against America"). "Pillow Talk" revolves around a young man remembering his relationship with his pillow. By that I mean, he has talks (literally) with the pillow which glances a staring at him with its two eyes which evolves into a "healthy" sexual relationship. But as previously stated in the early scenes he has a relationship with someone else, and his dad disapproves and when a girl admits a crush on him the things don't go all to well and that's why those happy memories come back to haunt him and there's an amusing surprise at its conclusion.

Due to its unusual flashback mode which made things awfully confusing (specially if one sees the ending) it took some time to find humor, the early dialogues with other persons (all played by Boyle) just feels like dumb ramblings that go on and on, nothing is amusing until the moment where he deals with the pillow (which then becomes almost hysterical, with him humping the pillow and making love sayings to it at the dinner sequence). However, I was bored for the most part and I cannot recommend it if giving a full perspective of the whole. There's nothing there that reaches either a satisfying level of humor neither a relevance to life as movie must have in order to achieve some greatness or some afterlife with viewers (short film also must go by the same rule - sometimes they're even greater than feature films of TV series).

Boyle is fine young actor, he convinced me that he can be funny despite knowing him after a heavy dramatic performance. There's talent there that needs to be viewed. Sadly, this short is not one of those things unless if you're really curious in seeing an early moment from the artist. 4/10.
