Not the most successful finale bakes. The final three, while all likeable, are not the most skilled we have seen at the end. They each struggled in various ways. To me, the showstopper from the previous episode was more impressive. I think the judges were very kind in their comments but the technical challenge results were pretty abysmal. For the last show I'm sure that the judges would have hoped for more polished bakes. As the other reviewer here stated, viewers have a pretty good idea who will win even before they start this episode. Some likeable bakers on this season but not the most successful finale bakes. GBBS is still delightful and highly watchable.

The Final

So, here we go. The final of The Great British Bake Off 2022.

And it's a fine, suitably jolly occasion, but I'd be lying if I said it was the most engaging final the show has ever produced. For me there was one clear favourite, and indeed in turn one clear winner, and it was just a case of how much of a fight/contest the other two finalists would make it to stop them from winning.

Which they duly couldn't.

Overall it's been a fine, entertaining enough series for the show, but there was a sense of it going through the motions, with there not being many of the bakers that you particularly rooted for.

Worst Final in shows History

It is sad that there are not many people applying for the show that are talented enough to make the show, enjoyable, and worth watching. This has nothing to do with Paul Prue Noel and even Matt is finding his place. The contestants, however doent seem to be the best of the lot & they got rid of Maxy, in my opinion has the most potential. I'm not sure if they want to change the format of the show for different viewers. Whatever the case, it was very disappointing. It was nice to have a cup of tea and watch a wholesome cooking show where people weren't fighting like on American television cooking show they are more calm and supportive of each other. That's the only positive I can give you.
