Made back in 2012 the original film was about two sisters, raised in a remote area of Chile by an abusive father. After their father goes to jail they have to answer to their uncle, a drug kingpin who wants his missing product back. There was a remake two years later, also directed by Valladares, that starred Michael Biehn and William Forsythe. Germany’s 8-Film has picked the U.S. and German rights to the sequel of Chilean Patricio Valladares’ genre film “Hidden in the Woods.” The company has also boarded the low-budget survival thriller as a co-producer and distributor.
Valladares, who premiered his short “Snowdevil” at the Santiago Int’l Film Festival (Sanfic) in August this year and bowed his film “Downhill” at 2016 Sanfic, will direct the sequel based on his own screenplay.
The news comes just as Sanfic Industria, taking place from Oct.27 to Nov. 5, has signaled its further commitment to supporting genre projects through its joint initiative with Mexican horror conglomerate Grupo Morbido that will include screenings and mentoring sessions at this year’s Sanfic-Morbido Lab with Morbido founder and CEO, Pablo Guisa.
The sequel will serve as a direct follow-up to the original Chilean version, and is set 10 years after the horrific events depicted in Valladares’ warped fable.

After giving us a unique twist on the vampire film in Climate of the Hunter, Mickey Reece and co-writer John Selvidge are back with Agnes, their take on demonic possession and evil doings in a convent. And while I knew this wasn’t going to be another nunsploitation film, I wasn’t expecting just what it delivers.
Sister Agnes is a young nun in an out-of-the-way convent of Saint Theresa. Her behaviour has been most troubling lately, foaming at the mouth, swearing at, and even attacking her fellow nuns. When Mother Superior (Mary Buss; Camp Cold Brook) asks for help she’s sent Father Donaghue an exorcist whom the diocese is looking for an excuse to excommunicate and his protege Ben.

Welcome to another horror/sci-fi round-up! This time around we have word of two big cast confirmations for Independence Day 2, details on Scream Factory's Deep in the Darkness Blu-ray / DVD release, and information on the new Blanc/Biehn Productions film, Treachery.
Independence Day 2: Last night it was revealed that the first official cast member had signed on to star in Roland Emmerich's Independence Day 2, the sequel to his 1996 film that featured massive alien-induced destruction and larger-than-life characters. It's now been confirmed that one of those characters will be coming back, as Emmerich tweeted last night that Jeff Goldblum will appear in the sequel, likely reprising his role as the brainy and dryly humorous David Levinson, who teamed up with fighter pilot Captain Steven Hiller to take down the mothership in the original film. Smith will not be coming back to reprise his role as Steven.

Exclusive: The distributor has announced from Berlin it has closed an all-rights North American deal for Chilean genre specialist Patricio Valladares’ action-comedy.
Artsploitation cut the deal at the Efm with producer and Valladares compatriot George Von Knorring of Chile’s Too Much Films.
Toro Loco: Bloodthirsty (Toro Loco: Sangriento) stars Francisco Melo as a vigilante who enlists the support of a young beauty, her geeky brother and a trigger-happy drag queen to avenge the murder of his son.
Valladares directed the notorious 2012 crime thriller Hidden In The Woods and the English-language remake starring Michael Biehn.
He is preparing to shoot the micro-budget English-language survival thriller Downhill in Chile this spring.
“Writer-director Valladares is an amazing talent,” said Artsploitation Films president Raymond Murray. “He imbues this fast-paced tale with memorable characters, imaginatively directed action scenes set within a modernised version of a Spaghetti Western and tops it off with a deft comedic touch.

Michael Biehn and his Blanc Biehn production company have been working on their remake of the Chilean horror Hidden In The Woods for some time now, and here, on its way to the American Film Market, is the first trailer. Biehn himself stars, and he's joined by William Forsythe, Electra Avellan, Jeannine Kaspar, Mma fighter Krxysztof Soszynski and Jennifer "Mrs Biehn" Blanc. The original Hidden In The Woods (which got a poisonous response at last year's FrightFest) is a slice of reprehensible gonzo sleaze, involving two sisters, their monstrous inbred brother, and their brutally abusive father. First time around, the youngsters turned to cannibalism when left to fend for themselves following Dad's arrest, but that aspect would also appear to have been dropped. What remains,...

Artsploitation Films are releasing Hidden in the Woods as their second horror release this year. We have included the trailer and the full press release below as well as the pre-order link from Amazon.
