Well, this episode certainly jacks up the disturbing levels. The princesses of Ooo are missing key body parts, out of which Ice King (who else?) constructs a wife for himself. He's sure as hell not going to get a date, so clearly his best option is . . . this. That alone is creepy, but so is the eponymous patchwork monster - who'd have thought that hearing the various princess voices integrated as one would sound so unnerving? And then you see the serene domesticity that Ice King craves, and you can't help but feel pity. It's a testament to funny lines and Tom Kenny's voice work that I like this guy, even as the writers aggressively turn him ever weirder.
But it's not all disquieting. It's still got the same humor we've come to expect. Finn and Jake can't look at her without fainting, and hearing LSP flipping out over someone else getting fresh with her lumps is funny.
But damn, Ice King is messed up.
