Sex & Nudity

  • Kissing between a male and female. Strong implications of oral sex between a male and female, where a woman unbuttons a man's trousers and kneels down to perform oral sex on him, no nudity shown, only implications and scene lasts 10-15 seconds. In the same episode there is a sexual suggestive gesture made whilst in conversation between a group of men.
  • Man and Woman kiss. A woman calls a man on the phone and she is heavy breathing during the conversation indicating she is pleasuring herself whilst talking to the man. During the phone call the woman suggests to the man that she is up for anything sexually, where there are no limits. Later, cleavage is shown in this episode when a woman bends over and she is wearing an low cut top.
  • A man and woman are shown having sex in a car. No nudity is shown, but car is rocking and the woman is moaning loudly.
  • There is a scene where two people are kissing then pants unzipped and implied sexual act. No nudity.
  • There's a scene where we see a man fully nude taking a shower behind a clear curtain. The clear curtain obscures things so it's hard to make out any details, but there's no shot of genitalia due to the placement of legs, but you can't see the outline of his buttocks from the side. This occurs during season 2.
  • No nudity at all. There is no naked body parts shown ever in this show.

Violence & Gore

  • Season 1: Severed fingers, multiple dead bodies, distressing situations and sudden suicide.
  • Season 2: Arson, flaming bodies, distressing scenes, short image of a dead body, burns, assault and brief torture.
  • A woman is attacked by a gang and has her throat slit with a knife. Very graphic scene and a lot of blood is shown.
  • A handycapped man is targeted in his house, where the criminals pee in his plants, slap his face and place a dead body in his house. Later, two police officers attend the man's house and they belittle him. Within this episode, a mans hand is secured to a vice where they begin to torture him for information. They attempt to cut his fingers off with a pair of shears.
  • A man gets knocked down by a speeding truck. A man has his fingers skinned by a pair of shears where blood is shown. A man punches another man several times in the stomach. A dog is shown to be injured and the dogs owner breaks the dogs neck to put it out its misery.
  • Some violence in every series, very realistic, usually standard cop show violence but sometimes extremely graphic.
  • In series 4, a man falls down a flight of stairs - we see his head bleed upon impact. He survives, with temporary injuries

  • Fuck is said roughly 10 times in every season.
  • Moderate level profanity. Uses of "Fuck", "Shit", "Asshole", "Damn", "Hell", "Pissed", "Bastard", "Tit" are heard. British swears such as "Bollocks", "Bloody", "Wanker", "Twat" and "Slag" are also used. They are not excessively used, and are used when the scene requires them to be said.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • A drug dealer is questioned about his part in selling and buying drugs. He describes that the drugs are sold in little white sachets. Drinking in a bar is shown between colleagues.
  • Scenes show youths buying and selling drugs in a street. Drinking in bars shown between colleagues. A man and woman get drunk by drinking a full bottle of rum in a house.
  • A very mild drinking scene in a bar.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Difficult topics (human trafficking, exploitation, child abuse) are frequently dealt with.
  • SUICIDE TRIGGER WARNING: Series 1, Episode 5, at 50 min. There's a graphic suicide by jumping in front of a truck.
