Jeffrey Osborne, an alcoholic newspaper reporter with a checkered past has been hired to investigate the Townsend Mansion which has a history of ghostly sightings and violent deaths. Osborne was recently found not guilty of a drunk driving charge in which four people died. He then accepted a job at a Northern Ontario newspaper called the Northstar Nugget. The main reason he took the job ,which he considers to be a step down for him,is because he has to pay several months of alimony to his ex-wife and children. Osborne has for the past several years been unable to hold down a job due to his drinking. Hopefully when he does prove that the haunted mansion is a myth his star will rise and he will be offered better jobs.
