This feature was filmed over a period of six days in late January, on next to no budget, using (predominantly) the single location of a Manhattan apartment.
Daniel Kremer: [Movie within the movie] The black-and-white film within the film that the character Chazz watches on the television is actually footage from a super-16mm project that director Daniel Kremer shot in 2008 with his cinematographer Aaron Hollander. This project, then titled "Leaving Yvonne Pregnant in the Kitchen," was abandoned for logistical reasons. Kremer had been itching for years to return to it to complete it. When directing A Simple Game of Catch, he realized that both films had similar themes, so he decided to incorporate the old footage into the new work as a film within the film.
