Was produced on a tight budget which was raised through crowd funding, as explained by writer director Phil Harrison in an interview: They built a model to raise $100,000 by selling 400 shares at $250 each. This way everyone involved in the project would own part of it: 40% of any return on the film now goes back to the investors, 30% to the various production companies, 20% to the cast & crew and 10% back into the township in South Africa where filming took place.
The film was shot in only 14 days, 6 of them in South Africa.
During the shoot in South Africa young people from the township where filming took place were employed as crew and given the opportunity to work in responsible positions.
Writer director Phil Harrison has as a young man worked as a volunteer in a South African orphanage.
