- The ten remaining teams stay in India when a bus takes them from Delhi to Jaipur during the rest period. On their arrival, they have to undertake a driving test on the exotic city's chaotic streets. A run-in between two teams sends one of them reeling.—Allister Coots
- In the rest period following the last Pit Stop, a bus transports the ten teams five hours south from Delhi to Jaipur. Situated on the edge of the Great Indian Desert, Jaipur is known as the Pink City of Rajistan. Once there, the first team to check in at the last Pit Stop, flatmates Sticky & Sam, are first to depart from Shiv Vilas at 9:00am. They open up their clue and find out that they must travel by auto-rickshaw to the Red Elephant Temple, and that teams will receive A$35 for this leg of the race. Having won the previous leg, Sticky & Sam realise that all eyes will be put on them. They have proven that they can compete, despite Sticky's amputated left arm, and are overwhelmed to think how successful they are being with it.
As their rickshaw takes them to the temple, cheerleading twins Michelle & Jo are next to depart at 9:02am. They remark that they have a special connection, as being twins puts them in sync with each other, a communication lacking among other teams that puts them at a disadvantage. Sticky & Sam's rickshaw driver takes them past the temple and then gets lost. Meanwhile, father and daughter Ross & Tarryn and hairdressers Sue & Teresa are the next to depart, both leaving at 9:36am. Ross & Tarryn see themselves as competitive, with Ross emphasising to his daughter that they need to be first every time, while Tarryn wants to prove that she is not her father's little girl any more and doesn't need him all the time. Michelle & Jo are first to arrive at the Red Elephant Temple, where after taking off their shoes, they go inside and are blessed by a Hindi priest before receiving their next clue, which is a Road Block, a task that only one person from each team may perform. At this Road Block, the person who chooses to do the task has to master Jaipur's chaotic streets and pass their very own Indian driving test. They must first complete a briefing on Indian road signs, then hit the streets of downtown Jaipur for a practical driving test. When they pass the test and reach a marketplace, they will receive their next clue. Michelle decides that she will perform the task.
Sticky & Sam finally find the Red Elephant Temple and receive the blessing and their next clue, with Sticky opting to do the driving test. Ross & Tarryn and Sue & Teresa are next to reach the temple, with Ross and Sue taking the test for their teams. Engaged couple Kym & Donna are next to depart at 9:39am, followed by workmates Paul & Steve at 9:40am. Paul states that he wants to win at all costs, but he doesn't want other teams to know that because such information could be to their detriment. In spite of this, his intentions were made clear to Kym & Donna, who would rather play fair in the race. Police officers Shane & Andrew depart at 9:46am, and observe that while they have been doing well at the challenges, they haven't been having as much luck with the travel to them, though they have to get on their bikes and keep going. Kym & Donna and Paul & Steve arrive at the temple, and after they are blessed, Kym and Paul decide to perform the driving test for their teams. Shane & Andrew's poor travel form continues when their auto-rickshaw driver drops them off at the wrong place.
Brother and sister Joseph & Grace and dating couple James & Sarah are the next teams to depart at 9:54am. Joseph & Grace find their relationship is getting stronger, as the younger sister looks up to her older brother and feeds him with information, which Grace sees as Joseph becoming more tolerant of her. Their rickshaws travel close to each other, and Sarah tries to use her bosoms to stall Joseph & Grace's driver, a move that Grace considers to be disgusting. Sisters Lucy & Emilia are the last team to depart at 10:04am. They aim to prove that two people being nice can still win.
Michelle & Jo arrive at the Bharat Driving and Maintenance Training School, where Michelle gets briefed on the Indian road signs. She had only learned to drive a manual car two weeks before the race, and it showed when she starts her driving test in the wrong gear. Jo goes along for the ride in the back seat. Joseph & Grace and Shane & Andrew are the next to arrive at the Red Elephant Temple and receive the Road Block. Sticky completes his briefing on the Indian road signs, and later shares how he thought his instructor was scared, thinking how a one-armed guy would drive a manual car. In spite of this, Sticky has no problem with using the end of his arm to change gears. James & Sarah and Lucy & Emilia receive their blessings from the Hindi priest and receive their Road Block clue. Ross & Tarryn arrive at the driving school, where Ross completes the briefing and sets off on his practical test. He describes the amount of traffic and number of people on the Jaipur roads as bedlam. As Sue takes her driving test, Teresa is the classic back seat driver. After Sue tells her to say nothing, she brings out their aura cleansing spray instead. Meanwhile, Sticky turns into a street where there are things going on everywhere that he is trying to miss. Suddenly, he hears a bang and starts to freeze, thinking it would be enough to fail the test for him, but his instructor tells him to continue, explaining that the bang was a hand-cart hitting their car.
Despite feeling scared, Michelle passes her driving test, and the twins receive their next clue. They must now stack 75 clay pots into an oxcart and deliver them to a vendor at the other end of the market, who will hand them their next clue. If they break more than 15 pots along the way, they will have to serve a penalty at the drop-off point. Sticky also passes his test, and he and Sam also head for the clay pots. Michelle & Jo see the pots neatly stacked on the ground and think that is how they need to pack them on their cart, though as both they and Sticky & Sam begin loading the pots, they find that they don't exactly all fit in to the oxcart. Shane completes the road sign familiarization and sets off on his driving test. Sue & Teresa pass their driving test, choose an oxcart and start loading it with clay pots, and are followed soon after by Ross & Tarryn. Paul finds his driving quite embarrassing - he is normally confident at driving, but having an instructor next to him made him tighten up. Frequently stalling the car, he feels later like he was giving his instructor the impression that he had never driven a vehicle before in his life.
Lucy & Emilia, James & Sarah and Joseph & Grace are next to arrive at the driving school and receive a briefing on the Indian road signs. Emilia finds the briefing hilarious. Shane continues on his driving test, and later tells Andrew that he had thought there was no way he would get to drive in India as someone would get killed. He asks his instructor what the local police are like. Paul manages to catch up to Kym at a set of traffic lights during the driving test and gets a bit of a drag race vibe, only to stall the car again when the lights turn green, which makes Kym laugh. At the marketplace, Michelle & Jo are taught by an ox instructor how to drive the ox that will pull their cart, but around 30 seconds after they set off, they lose around 20 pots from what they thought was a neat stack. Sticky & Sam also lose a few close to where they could see the cheerleaders' broken pots. Emilia, Sarah and Grace set off on their driving tests - it's the first time Sarah has ever driven a manual car, while Joseph admits that Grace doesn't have the best driving skills, according to her insurance company. Emilia compares Italians to Indians at driving, with both being crazy. Sarah loved using the horn during her test.
Michelle & Jo's oxcart arrives at the drop-off point, and they unpack and count their clay pots, and find that they have delivered 48, which means that they have incurred a 15 minute penalty. Sticky & Sam also incur a penalty after they deliver their pots. Kym & Donna and Paul & Steve pass their driving tests and start to load pots into their oxcarts. Paul & Steve decide not to stack their cart too quickly, but take the time to get it right. Sue & Teresa are next to set off, but a small shimmy from their ox is enough to send pots falling off their cart while they are still at the start. Ross and Tarryn set off with a larger load, but as Tarryn calls Ross to steady their cart, a couple of their pots fall off. In his driving test, Shane sees a dog run towards them on the road, and when his instructor grabs the steering wheel, he thinks it means failure, but his driver is happy about it, and when the police officers reach the marketplace, Shane's instructor gives them their next clue. The police officers start to load their oxcart as Sue & Teresa's cart takes off quickly and causes a few of their pots to fall. Joseph & Grace move off at a steadier pace, but as they pass Paul, his backpack bumps into some of their pots and makes them fall off, but Paul claims it was the brother and sister that ran into him. Joseph & Grace later consider themselves the worst team that the workmates could have crossed, as they have long memories.
Michelle & Jo finish serving their time penalty still in the lead, and open up their next clue to find another Road Block. At this second Road Block, teams must head to the ancient step well near the Amer Fort, where the person who performs this task has to find an exact combination of 41 steps down followed by 10 steps up to reach a guru, who will hand them their next clue. Sticky & Sam also serve out their time penalty and receive the Road Block clue. Sarah continues her crazy drive, even passing a cow on the road. She remarks afterwards that only her Botox was keeping her face in its place. Ross & Tarryn arrive at the drop-off point and count 64 pots, while Sue & Teresa only have 33 pots to deliver. Ross & Tarryn bypass the penalty that Sue & Teresa have to serve. When the father and daughter receive their clue, Tarryn decides to perform the second Road Block. Sue & Teresa shake hands with some local school kids while they serve their time penalty. Sarah passes her driving test, and she and James move on to the clay pots, with Sarah telling James that they need to make a good foundation of pots to build on. Kym & Donna and Paul & Steve arrive at the drop-off point, but are both told that they have too many broken pots. As they start to serve their penalties, Sue & Teresa finish theirs.
Sticky & Sam are first to arrive at the step well. Sticky, performing the task, compares it to something out of the Harry Potter movies with stairs going everywhere. Sticky arrives at the guru, but is told to go back. Shane & Andrew lose a few pots as they run into locals coming through on their bicycles. Kym & Donna and Paul & Steve serve out their time penalties and get the next Road Block clue. Donna chooses to perform the task for her team, while Paul & Steve play Rock Paper Scissors to decide who will perform the task, with Steve's scissors cutting Paul's paper. Shane & Andrew deliver 45 pots, and are told that they have broken too many. Grace continues her driving test, sounding the horn when she comes up on a cyclist, and later holding up a coach by taking things slowly, but passes the test, as does Emilia. As they start to load clay pots, Sticky tries a particular path that catches his eye, and when he finds the guru again, he hands Sticky the next clue, which directs Sticky & Sam to make their way to the next Pit Stop at Madhavendra Palace, located in Nahargarh Fort, built nearly 300 years ago to defend the city of Jaipur, which it overlooks, before it became a retreat for the Maharajah and his nine wives. Today, it is Jaipur's most popular landmark. Michelle & Jo make it to the step well about a minute behind Ross & Tarryn. Tarryn considered Michelle a good motivator, knowing that she had to beat the cheerleader. She tries to keep going in the same direction, but the first time she arrives at the guru, she is told to go back, as is Michelle when she first gets to him. Ross hopes that Tarryn keeps a clear mind, learns from her failures and makes the necessary adjustment to get the right result quickly, and Tarryn feels the pressure on her to get her team out as quickly as possible, but she is again told by the guru to go back. Back at the markets, Joseph & Grace set off with their oxcart, while James & Sarah take more time to stack their cart, hoping to avoid a time penalty, but both teams lose a few pots along the way. At the step well, Tarryn finally finds the right combination of steps and receives the clue to the Pit Stop from the guru. Ross is ecstatic when Tarryn gets the clue - he has to trust her and accept that she doesn't need his help to guide her. Sue & Teresa are next to arrive at the step well, but Sue has trouble counting the right number of steps. Michelle finds the guru again, only to be told to go back.
Sticky & Sam's rickshaw arrives at the fort, but their driver tries to charge them double the price they agreed, which is twice the amount of money the flatmates have. Concerned that Ross & Tarryn might catch up to them, they start begging from the crowd that have gathered around them, and collect 200 rupees from one person. They settle with their driver as Ross & Tarryn arrive, make their way to the palace roof and find host Grant Bowler at the mat, who tells them that they are team number one, and that as the winners of this leg of the race, they have won a state-of-the-art home entertainment system worth A$5,000 from Bing Lee electrical stores. Ross & Tarryn are the second team to be checked in.
As Joseph & Grace close in on the drop-off point and a few more pots fall off their cart, Shane & Andrew finish serving their time penalty and are on their way to the second Road Block. Joseph & Grace unpack their pots and deliver enough to receive the Road Block clue straight away. As James & Sarah and Lucy & Emilia make their way from the market to the drop-off point, both are followed by different groups of children. One of the group following James & Sarah pinches Sarah on her behind, while some children following Lucy & Emilia push some of their clay pots off the oxcart. At the drop-off point, Lucy & Emilia deliver 33 pots and incur a penalty, while James & Sarah's care pays off as they deliver 64 pots and receive the clue for the Road Block. Arriving at the step well, Donna nearly gets vertigo when she sees all of the steps without any handrails. Michelle tries the steps six or seven times before finding the right combination to receive a clue from the guru. Sue is still getting confused by the step counts. She finds the guru but is told to go back. Donna tries sticking with the same route several times, thinking that she's missing steps while she is running, but the guru still sends her back. Paul & Steve arrive at the step well, with Paul seeing it as a chance that would either make him look really bad or show that he is not arrogant by backing up his mental skills. He feels that his normal occupation as an accountant will help him, and quickly sees that the upward steps are all in groups of 5, meaning that to find the right path, he has to climb two sets of upward steps. He makes his way to the guru and receives the clue to the Pit Stop. Kym and Steve swap their sides of the story of the "collision" of their oxcarts, but Steve soon has cause to shout when he sees Paul with the clue. Donna is next to find the right combination of steps.
When Paul & Steve and Kym & Donna return to their auto-rickshaws to get their drivers to take them to the fort, they find that Shane & Andrew have parked theirs right in front of them. They have to move Shane & Andrew's rickshaw in order to get their own out. Once they are mobile, Paul & Steve pass Kym & Donna. At the fort, Michelle & Jo are the third team to check in, while the race for fourth heats up when Kym & Donna get back ahead of Paul & Steve, and maintain that position all the way to the mat, which Kym considers as their revenge for the way the workmates treated them - if anyone cheats, bad things will happen to them. On the other hand, Donna thinks that it won't be the end for her. Meanwhile at the step well, Shane & Andrew arrive and see Sue still climbing the stairs as Andrew starts the task. Lucy & Emilia finish serving their time penalty as James & Sarah arrive at the step well, with James choosing to perform the task. He later describes the place as one of the coolest things he thinks he has ever seen. As Sue continues going up and down, Andrew counts the 41 steps down and finds the final five up to receive the clue from the guru. Joseph enters the step well and finds the right combination of steps on his first attempt. Teresa finds it hard seeing teams coming after them and going before them, and James adds to her difficulties by finding a correct step combination.
Joseph & Grace catch up to Shane & Andrew on the drive to Nahargarh Fort and pass them, but they take a wrong turn in their search for Madhavendra Palace. Shane & Andrew spot the markers and arrive in sixth, while Joseph & Grace and James & Sarah are the next two teams to check in. Sue still can't get her head around the step well task as Lucy & Emilia arrive. The task also does Emilia's head in - she makes it to the guru but is told to go back. Sue's counts of the steps keep coming up one short, and she too is sent back by the guru. Her heart sinks because she knows that the last team out of the step well is most likely to be going home. Meanwhile, Emilia makes some notes about each flight of stairs up and down. After the guru sends Sue back one more time, Emilia finds him and receives the clue to the Pit Stop. Neither person considers quitting an option, a trait that Emilia learnt from her mother. On her own, Sue gives herself another shot of the aura spray, and then finds a correct step combination. Their only hope now is to pass Lucy & Emilia on the way to the Pit Stop, but the sisters settle their account with the auto-rickshaw driver and arrive in ninth. Sue & Teresa make it to the mat, and are told by Grant that they are last to arrive and have been eliminated from the race. After delivering the bad news to them, Grant tells them that they have run a great race and he thinks that they have an amazing attitude. The hairdressers later say that the race has heightened their friendship, allowing them to bond for life. They see it as poetic justice and are glad that they got to see India.
