- [Rollins has admitted to being a gambling addict]
- Captain Donald Cragen: I've been exactly where you are, I know how this job can weigh on you.
- Detective Amanda Rollins: What do you mean?
- Captain Donald Cragen: I used to drink. And I mean *drink*. Soon as I got off duty, I was at the bar pounding. And then I started having a few on the job. You know, just to get through. I thought nobody noticed. Now, my captain could've canned my ass. Should've. But he got me help instead.
- Detective Amanda Rollins: Wow.
- Captain Donald Cragen: You're a good detective, Amanda. I don't want to end your career.
- Detective Amanda Rollins: I don't want that, either.
- Captain Donald Cragen: So I'm gonna get you help. But you screw up again, you're gone.
- Emmy Eckhouse: Carmen and Jimmy were trying to save me. I told them Friday night my parents would both be home. I was supposed to be at Rob's house. I told them to write "Queers" on the wall so the police would think it was a hate crime.
- Nick Amaro: And, look, your father, I get. But your mother?
- Emmy Eckhouse: My father was just pathetic. He couldn't help himself. But my mom? I hated her more than him.
- Olivia Benson: She knew.
- Emmy Eckhouse: She let it happen! Carmen tried to tell her. I tried. Everybody thinks that she's some kind of hero, but she was more worried about saving the world than she was about saving her own daughter.
- Captain Donald Cragen: [about Emmy being involved in her parents' death] We need to find out if she had a hand in this, Liv.
- Olivia Benson: Well, even if she did, she's a 14-year-old girl who was the victim of sexual abuse in her own home.
- Captain Donald Cragen: And there were other ways she could've handled it. Look, I hope to God she's not involved, but we have to follow through on this.
- Detective Amanda Rollins: [to Fin] Thanks for coming to meet me.
- Odafin Tutuola: It's all good. What's up?
- Detective Amanda Rollins: Fin, I have a problem.
- Odafin Tutuola: That guy Murphy, right?
- Detective Amanda Rollins: Yeah. Back home, I was in football pools, I bet NCAA tournaments, the derby, big stuff. I liked the action, but it wasn't serious, but since I got to New York, it's out of control.
- Odafin Tutuola: How deep you in?
- Detective Amanda Rollins: $20K.
- Odafin Tutuola: Plus the juice every week?
- Detective Amanda Rollins: Yeah, I was down 50 at one point.
- Odafin Tutuola: Did he always know you were a cop?
- Detective Amanda Rollins: No. I told him I was a bartender. I checked him out. I wanted to know who I was dealing with. I made my pay-off at his bar. I waited and I followed Murphy when he left.
- Odafin Tutuola: Where'd he go?
- Detective Amanda Rollins: To a social club in Hell's Kitchen. A bookie joint. And I did some digging around on Murphy's known associates. His boss's name is McCourt. Scary guy. Tonight, Murphy knocked me around. He threatened me. He had that guy Parker with him for backup.
- Odafin Tutuola: He hit you?
- Detective Amanda Rollins: Yeah.
- Odafin Tutuola: Are you okay?
- [Rollins nods]
- Odafin Tutuola: You sure?
- Detective Amanda Rollins: Yeah. Anything else you wanna know about your new partner?
- Odafin Tutuola: Okay, this is the deal. We take these creeps off the street, and let them know exactly who the hell we are. Then you're gonna have to come clean to the captain.
- Nick Amaro: [to the doctor about Emmy] Hey, doc, you have a second? I saw you have her on antivirals? Can I ask why? Look, this may be pertinent to our investigation.
- Dr. Sloane: The surgery triggered a herpes outbreak. A nurse noticed it when they were changing her catheter.
- Olivia Benson: Genital herpes?
- Dr. Sloane: Simplex two. Not that unusual in a sexually-active 14-year-old. I should get back in there.
- [leaves]
- Nick Amaro: So she was having sex.
- Olivia Benson: Emmy's boyfriend told us that they took a vow of celibacy.
- Olivia Benson: Absentee mother, adolescent girl left alone in the house with her father.
- Nick Amaro: Who has a drinking problem.
- Olivia Benson: Says she's a virgin, but somehow contracted genital herpes? Wouldn't be the first time we tested a corpse for STDs.
- Olivia Benson: [after it's revealed that Emmy was molested by her father] You're 14, Emmy. You shouldn't have to go through this alone. There's people that you can talk to, that will help you.
- Emmy Eckhouse: You wanna help me? Make sure Rob never finds out. I don't ever want Rob to know. He'd be disgusted. Please don't tell him. Please.
- Nick Amaro: Lab report on Sidney Eckhouse's tissue samples from the autopsy. Father and daughter tested positive for the same strain of herpes.
- Captain Donald Cragen: Every unhappy family is unhappy in its own way. Find out who else knew.
- Detective Amanda Rollins: [to Amaro] All right, Chinese or Italian? I'll let you figure it out.
- Captain Donald Cragen: [to Amaro and Rollins] Hey, guys, hold off on your dinner break. We got a shooting in Yorkville. Two fatalities confirmed.
- Detective Amanda Rollins: And that's SVU because...?
- Captain Donald Cragen: Well, the shooting took place at the home of Joan Eckhouse, chief counsel for the New York Gay Rights Coalition. I'll have Liv and Fin meet you there.
- Murphy: [after Olivia and Amaro go over his past charges] These are very good stories, but you know what else is good? Twilight. They say it's just for tweens, but I do love those vampires.
- Rob Fisher: Emmy was supposed to come over tonight to study but my dad made me cancel. If he hadn't grounded me, she wouldn't have been shot. I know it.
- Nick Amaro: Did she come over a lot of nights? To... study?
- Rob Fisher: All the time. My dad thought Emmy was distracting me. That's my dad, always trying to teach me a lesson.
- Olivia Benson: How long have you two been together?
- Rob Fisher: Eight months. We connected right away.
- Olivia Benson: But your dad didn't think it was a good idea for you two to be in a relationship?
- Rob Fisher: I told him we weren't sleeping together. Even got Emmy to take the abstinence pledge. He just couldn't let it go.
- Rob Fisher: [running over] Detectives! I heard the sirens. Is everyone okay? No one will tell me anything.
- Detective Amanda Rollins: And who are you, son?
- Rob Fisher: I'm Rob, Emmy's boyfriend.
- Mr. Fisher: I'm Rob's father.
- Odafin Tutuola: Mr...
- Mr. Fisher: Fisher.
- Rob Fisher: What happened? Is Emmy all right? Where is she?
- Detective Amanda Rollins: She's at the hospital.
- Rob Fisher: Oh, my God.You happy now, dad? This is all your fault.
- Detective Amanda Rollins: How well do you know the Eckhouses?
- Mr. Fisher: I knew Sidney better. I mean, Joan was always working. You know, she was a real crusader, you know, with her gay thing.
- Odafin Tutuola: What about their marriage?
- Mr. Fisher: Who knows? I saw him with his daughter mostly.
- Detective Amanda Rollins: How did he feel about her relationship with your son?
- Mr. Fisher: We were on the same page. Look, they're kids. I mean, it's just too intense. We'd email about curfews, ground rules.
- Detective Amanda Rollins: Well, he seemed pretty upset by those rules.
- Mr. Fisher: That's part of being a dad. I mean, I even had to lock him in tonight when I went to walk the dog.
- Detective Amanda Rollins: How about other nights? Did you notice anyone watching the house, or a car parked outside?
- Mr. Fisher: I mean, there was a squad car parked outside their house about a month ago for at least an hour.
- Odafin Tutuola: Sidney say anything about that?
- Mr. Fisher: Aw, I didn't ask. I mean, whatever it was, it wasn't my business.
- Olivia Benson: Messy crime scene. What the hell happened?
- Nick Amaro: Delivery guy found them. No forced entry, no sign of robbery. You walked in past the wife, Joan. She opened the door on the shooter. Now he does her, then before they can react, he moves to the husband and daughter on the couch. This is the husband, Sidney Eckhouse.
- Olivia Benson: What about the daughter?
- Nick Amaro: Emmy, 14. In surgery at St. Michael's. bullet in her head.
- CSU Tech: [carrying an evidence bag with a bullet inside] Found this in the wall. We're looking for the others. EMS made a mess of the scene. Good luck trying to reconstruct what went down.
- Olivia Benson: Full metal jacket?
- Nick Amaro: It's a Winchester 357 sig. It's one way to send a message.
- Olivia Benson: I've seen my share of hate crimes, but, uh... execution of a whole family? That's, uh... extreme.
- Nick Amaro: So she said Rob didn't know, but she could be covering for him.
- Olivia Benson: Okay, so he shoots the father to stop the incest. Okay. But why shoot Emmy? We need to recheck forensics.
