Better than any ghost hunting show online or on network television.

The quality is beyond television. The content is naturally funny while developing complex characters for us to walk alongside as they sincerely hunt for ghosts in horrifying locations. The hosts really feel like normal guys who found a weird and wonderful passion that happens to be trying to make movie quality ghost hunting content and man did they succeed. The producers, editors, and all the staff has carefully sculpted a magnificent and complex in quality show. In addition, Ghost Files offers a surprising quantity of paranormal experiences and Ryan and Shane come off so genuine, you have to believe it's real. Unlike with most paranormal shows, I truly feel that none of the evidence is faked. This offers a new level of scare and reignites the almost childlike belief that maybe ghosts are, indeed, real after all. To anyone looking to get scared in a serious yet whimsical way, treat yourself to this amazing show.

It's good, great even

Really Good. Better than unsolved. More evidence, better production value, and more entertaining. Better than any ghost hunting show as it isn't overly dramatized and has good comedy.

Ryan and Shane are an amazing duo as usual and they really step it up as they have much more creative freedom with Watcher instead of Buzzfeed. I believe all of the episodes so far are better than the majority of Buzzfeed unsolved. The only unsolved episode I consider better than most of the Ghost Files episodes is the Return to the Sally house.

If you're a fan of Unsolved like me, Ghost Files is a worthy successor that surpasses it in almost every way. Not crapping on unsolved as I love the show but Ghost Files is peak af.

love it

This show is not only funny but extremely entertaining due to the dynamic of shane and ryan. The dramatic music and information about the house/place they're going into adds to the atmosphere. Love it and definitely worth the watch especially if you enjoyed them on buzzfeed unsolved. Every episode is different yet sticks to the same themes which I love, it brings consistency and knowing every episode will be as good as the last. They're very professional and thorough with their investigations using a wide range of equipment brung to the table but the humour is the main reason I watch. Both men are so so funny and bounce of eachother so well along with the environment around them :)

A Strong Predecessor to BFU

The show is a great follow-up to its predecessor, BuzzFeed Unsolved: Supernatural, and deals with the subject with a balance of seriousness and comedy.

The show is much more creatively fulfilling than BFU, with clearly a high production value and much more passion behind it.

The boys seem to enjoy making this show much more than the last and that's great. We also see there friendship and dynamic in a much more real and better sense - neither is playing the over the top naïve believer or stubborn denier, they seem to understand each others points much more than before.

My one criticism is how Ryan's personality seems to be lost to this new manufactured persona of a man who seems clinically insane and does a random, maniacal, high pitched laugh that seems more at home in kids' paranormal parody videos.

Hopefully this is a slight kink that can be ironed out for season 2 - it doesn't make the show unwatchable but as it happens in the solo explorations at the end, it does make the endings much more skippable.

Not to be confused with Yu Yu Hakusho, this Ghost Files is a youtube original series by the channel Watcher, hosted by two aspiring ghost hunters / entertainment personalities Shane Madej and Ryan Bergara. The show follows the standard ghost hunter show format, travelling to numerous haunted locations bringing along the standard recording equipment and spector finding gadgets. While ghost tech has come a long ways since the tales of One Step Beyond or the cheesy green night vision of Most Haunted, the believability and scare tactics of the format have barely changed, with few seeking true legitamcy and more a means of light entertainment. This show definitely just adds to this pile, and while many my come to / enjoy this because of the hosts personalities, I can't say it does anything that makes it too worth watching unless you're already big fans of these two. The actual ghost hunting typically involves throwing half a dozen gadgets at the "ghosts" and seeing what sticks; point enough cameras and ask enough questions and eventually you'll get something you can play off as a legitimate response from the other side. Often with dramatic sounds added in post over the so called evidence captured, or failing to get clear audio / video footage of some interaction Ryan swears was a ghost, I just wasn't impressed that with the opportunity to try something new they just copy pasted the long existing format we've come to expect. Booo ghosts.
