Occasional flaws, but all in all watchable Warning: Spoilers
This is the second "Spuren des Bösen" movie starring Heino Ferch. Film's director is Prochaska and the writer is Ambrosch as always. Ferch gets help here from two very experienced German actors: Elsner and von Thun. Both get baity story lines written for them as well, especially Elsner. Ursula Strauss is not a nobody either and the other child from a diabolic family with more than one dark secret, good cast for a 90 minute television movie. The film is 2.5 years old and I expected a hostage situation for almost the entire film, but it turned out this was only relevant in the first 10 minutes. Ferch plays a character as you would expect him to play: a lone wolf who isn't scared of going against his own bosses. That's nothing new, but it's fine as it's exactly his niche and fits him as an actor. Maybe they included too many issues in this film: the aforementioned hostage situation, child abuse, pedophilia, murder... All in all, it's a decent movie. Sometimes they stepped down to soap opera levels sadly, for example when one of the cops blackmails Ferch's daughter that she needs to go out with him or he will take action against her dad. Or another situation would be Strauss' character trying to kiss Ferch at one point. Of course, Ferch is a real "Brock(en)". The name actually fits his character's physics and his alpha male approach to the role. They should have kept it as a 100% crime movie with thriller elements without all the rubbish I mentioned before, then this film would have been even better. But it's still watchable this way and certainly superior to the other movie from the series I watched: "Schande".
