A film on what it is to be human in this world.
peacechoes2 January 2024
This is a movie of inspiration, but more so it's grounded in vulnerability and being raw in the world of outdoor sports and how that carries over into the rest of life. It's about understanding where failure intersects with that rawness and vulnerability to collide with grit, perseverance, and passion. For me, it was the reminder of facing ego and allowing a community to support you in a journey through humility and self-insight. As Jess Campbell says, "Even if you're doing it right, it still hurts." The discomfort, the things we take for granted; it's all there. I absolutely loved it, I think you will too.

Unexpectedly deep

We saw this when it premiered in Wenatchee, WA. It was a packed house, full of really engaged people, seemed like mostly athletes. The film looked like it was going to be a light hearted sports flick, but ended up being so much more than that! It touched on topics like grit and passion, and also suicide and depression.

The kids loved it as much as I did! It was completely entertaining but also asked a lot of important questions. It opened the door to some hard conversations that are probably good for everybody to hear. But maybe especially teenagers. Since it's got the action sports that so many kids love, it gives people a metaphor to speak to kids about important topics that might be scary to address head on.

Over all a really great film! Made you laugh, cringe, think cry and celebrate all at once!

Well worth the watch

This documentary was entertaining to watch from start to end. It was so nice to see and recognize many of the local areas that were featured. I really enjoyed getting immersed in each athlete's story and to hear why they were passionate about their particular sport.

But this was so much more than just a sport's film. I appreciated its genuine focus on failure and risk, and how these things are essential for success and mastery in any discipline. I loved that the topics of grit and passion were discussed and explored. I was also moved by this show's willingness to touch on mental health, and the difficulty and importance that comes along with it.

Overall, this was well worth the watch. It was both educational, insightful, and fascinating. I never felt bored, but rather, on the edge of my seat the entire time. Well done once again, Charley, Voortex Productions, and crew...you've created another quality masterpiece.

After watching the documentary,it is clear to me how in our daily lives we have to overcome challenges that are not always easy. These athletes are an example of patience, tolerance and tenacity. They overcome fears and have tolerance for frustration. The documentary shows tema Word, something very important in the lifte of every human being. The athletes always had suport from all the people close to them. Congratulations to the professional work of the psychologist who also joined the challenges of the athletes.

Of course also congratĂșlate the cameramen and all the team that was involved.!,

So glad I brought my teenagers

Grit. It's one thing to talk about it. It's another thing to see it in action; Expressed through the sports and personalities of three different top athletes.

The movie delivers the message of Grit and Determination without the overly positive, preachy tone that turns off teenagers and well-worn sports enthusiasts.

It wasn't just feel-good vibes the whole way through. You feel the falls and the hits and the fails. And then, you rejoice just as strongly with the triumphs because you're connected with what's happening on the screen.

The humility of the athletes brings their stories to life. The interviews are vulnerable without the cringe. They managed to capture the levity and the packed theater smiled and laughed along with them.

The message is visually captivating. The footage is spectacular. Fast paced in places, and then moody and introspective in others.

The skill of the camera crew is undeniable. There is an interplay between cast and crew that is really fun to watch. It was clearly a collaboration on many levels.

I hope this film reaches a broad audience. Because while it seems that it could only relate to athletes and adrenaline-seekers, the message is universal and the presentation is just a visual feast.
